Lifeson got abused by Naples, Florida police as he defended his obnoxious, drunken son (hardly a crime since it was New Year's Eve). They had no case, but he does and he's pissed:

Citing 2005 as a 'family year', he was hoping to get bored enough over the summer in preparation for the rigors of recording a new album.
