Bucs cut him

Wasn't he the next big thing?

UDFA QBs rarely become quality starters. The only one that the Cowboys ever lost that did anything was Matt Moore and he's already a backup again despite being only 30.

Vaughan to the practice squad is the right decision.

I agree with this. I didn't like Tanney getting picked of the practice squad because he did show some ability to be developed. That never means that a player will live up to the flashes they show. Romo is one of the exceptions, but he flashed ability and then went about recrafting himself into the quarterback he is today. Some of these young QBs with potential are really at the peak of their skills already.

I think a lot more could develop if they were given conditions to do so. Not many guys get breaks the way Romo did to be able to stay on a roster for 3 years or more getting better. It's tough to make it as a first rounder coming out of college, as it is. Imagine how much harder it is to do without the benefit of great college program, or conditioning, or reps, or without the time in an offense to really learn it sufficiently.

You say things like this and people say "Romo! Warner!" and think that means what you said isn't true.

Last name rhymes with Fanny. So he's got that going for him, which is nice.
