This kid is barely a Freshman but this is a young player we should all keep a close eye on. I saw him make an interception against Colorado that was unbelievable. He looked like a WR but he's a 300 pound DL making a play on a pass thrown less then 10 yards away. Texas DC Chris Ash, who knows a little something about DLs who have a little bit of talent (Watt and Bosa) says that Collins is the most gifted athlete, for his size, he has ever seen. He's young but he's only going to get better.

Full disclosure, I'm a huge Longhorns Fan but this isn't about being a homer. This kid, he has unique skills. You don't find 6'5 305 lbs Freshman with that kind of agility and quickness everyday. You should be able to be a fan of any team and see that this kid is different. Doesn't mean that he will become that guy but the tools are there. He is a hard worker, high motor guy. He is going to get much, much stronger and with his size and speed, he could be a monster. He plays inside and outside. He's a bigger, stronger David Irving with, hopefully, a brain cell or two.

He fits our scheme if we are going to eventually run a 34, for sure.

That Casey Thompson looked unreal when he came in too.. Some of those throws were really good.

Yeah, I was surprised when he came in and started slinging it as well. I was assuming Card would be the guy but not anymore. Thompson is clearly better at this stage.

But that kid Alfred Collins, if he keeps his head on straight, he's gonna get paid in a few years.
