Alfred Morris is 27 years old, but has only been in the league 4 years. He is a 2x pro bowler...

If you ignore the year he had last year, in the previous 3 years he had 3962 yards and 28 touchdowns (McFadden has 28 career touchdowns as well despite being in the NFL for twice as long).

It's not often you can get a 2x pro bowler as your 2nd or 3rd running back.

It will be interesting to see what he can do here with this offensive line and with this offense compared to the degrading offenses in Washington over the last few years.

I'd much rather roll with Morris than McFadden at this point.

I keep all 4 of them to ensure a dominant running game in case of injury and roll without a FB.

IMO, none of these guys will clear waivers.

Yeah, I'm not enamored with the tall linebackers converted to fullback for the first time experiments we have going on.

I'd rather keep 4 with Dunbar on PUP. But I think I'd rather keep Dunbar and Jackson over McFadden at this point.

McFadden had an excellent season as did Dunbar before the injury. I think the question is, what does Dunbar provide that Zeke can't now that he's on the roster? It will be interesting to see how the Boys decide to go once Dunbar comes off the PUP.

I think Dunbar is far more explosive out of the backfield compared to Elliott. I also like him at returner.

We are going to ground and pound the hell out of folks this year. Our O-line is built to run block...road graders.. everyone is going to be happy except the defenses we face...they are going to be one tired bunch by the middle of the third quarter.

I think think Zeke and Morris are going to be our 1-2 punch from hell! I like Mcfadden and I appreciate what he did last year, but unless there is an injury to the other two I think he will fighting for a roster spot. I would not be surprised to see us run for 2500 next year behind those two.

dunbar could be a returner, if whitehead or another receiver doesn't fill that role.

i don't think mcfadden fights for a roster spot, but i think he and morris fight for carries as the season goes on.

still, having 3 backs with skill is a great problem to have.

I respectfully disagree. I think DMAC still has a better burst into the line (getting the dirty yards more effectively) than Morris. DM has a year with this line and played exceptional considering facing 8 man boxes after Romo was hurt. Morris is a slower pounding back and that's great for an offense built for that pace. I understand your stats however I don't put a lot of stock in "2 pro bowl appearances" since pro bowls are often beauty contests and throwing out last years results just may prove he's a little on the done side of effectiveness in the league. I do think it's a good addition to the team however I have a feeling DMAC will be getting our 2nd team reps because he's a good fit for this offense with his pass catching ability, quickness and successful experience with running in this offense.
Would love to see all both of them thrive behind "Zeke" the heir apparent to the DC RB throne. It's going to be interesting.

Running back is a key position on this team that could have went from a strength to a weakness in a hurry if McFadden didn't play through all his starts last year.

I'm absolutely fine with going into the season long at RB if the coaches really like Lance Dunbar or the late round guy Jackson. The more proven depth and "upside" down the depth chart, the better. I wish we could say the same at WR.

I'm just not sure we have 10 million total committed to RB for the whole season. McFadden has the advantage of being a complete back. Morris has the advantage of being a better fit for our preferred running scheme. It feels like we are going to be a mostly 1 back team barring injury, but if that happens I expect a committee to happen very quickly. I think McFadden's fate is going to come around to how Jackson looks more then anything else. Jackson is a lot of abilities and if he shows good RB skills then it seems like he's someone who it'd be hard to cut.

With Mcfadden now injured, Morris could very well cement his spot as the number 2 runner. He brings a very different skill set than Mcfadden and may play a bigger role as a change of pace back. Its going to be interesting how roles get split up, its a very crowded backfield.

With that said Mcfadden carries a lot of value just based on his versatility and we know he can produce in this system. Unless hes injured headed into the season I cant see Jackson beating him out. Jackson is a 6th round pick that had 1 good season for a low level college team. Yes he has speed and talent, but unless he tears it up in the preseason I cant see him making it this season. Hes a perfect practice squad candidate, then if he doesnt get claimed he can compete for the number 3 spot next year.

McFadden is Dallas' most versatile backup RB. His pass receiving skills are exceptional, and his pass protection is above average. Receding I'd Morris' biggest weakness - so much so that Washington did not utilize him in routes. Unfortunately, that' skill is critical for a RB in Linehan's offense. I don't believe it will cost Morris a roster spot, but I think he'll lose snaps to McFadden because of it.

Pretty sure McFadden is the forgotten one. Everyone wants him replaced with an unproven 6th round draft pick. Everyone wants the new shiny toy in Morris. Next year, people will want him replaced with the late round rb we draft or free agent rb. (as McFadden this year)
