OFFENSE:

Tony Romo
– I thought Tony played fantastic. There was only a few select plays where I thought Romo could’ve taken some more chances downfield or improved his ball placement. The throw to Jason Witten that led to the interception was behind him, but I’ve seen Jason make that catch before and it just happened to turn into an interception. It happens. Romo fully trusts his offensive line and will be as patient as he needs to be to find the open receiver. He lacks the arm strength and velocity that he had earlier in his career, but makes up for it with his incredible release and ability to read the defense quickly. Romo is clearly playing at one of the highest levels of his career.

Joseph Randle – My initial reaction when watching Randle was that he looked nervous to start the game. He didn’t let his blocks develop and looked anxious. He settled down as the game went on and started to make plays. I expect him to look much better vs Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon. When Randle is relaxed, he is a perfect fit for the zone scheme. I saw multiple plays where he made himself “small” to get through a hole and gain extra yardage. Randle just missed a few massive runs, but I expect those to come with some more patience and experience. It’s clear to me that the Cowboys want Randle to be their lead back with McFadden spelling him and closing out games. I’m not concerned about Randle in the least bit, except for his ball security. He lost one on the second play of the game that very well could’ve been lost. He will need to correct that if he wants to keep his high work-load.

Thanks man! It's rather telling when posts like these garner little attention on the board.

Keep up the great work

Good read, though I'm not sure I completely agree with Tony losing arm strength. He should be at this age, but I saw him put some zip on a few of those balls. People used to question his arm strength often, but I think that was because he hardly ever really rifled many balls because he didn't have too. He clearly has a much stronger arm that many people say he does.

Oh I didn't say it was gone. He just doesn't have the same velocity he did as a 27 year old. It's still more than adequate.

Are you limited by words, or are you only limited to what you see in film? I only ask because you go into the WR corp but not the OL corp as a whole and how Romo had no pressure on him even considering the GIants always step up to play the Cowboys and that group kept Romos jersey clean. You talk about Randle and Dunbar, *dunbars legend is back even after 2 really good plays* yet nothing on McFadden. I dont totally agree with Tyron, I just keep the last drive was so emotional and that line knew the game was totally different and they imposed their will on the Giants who ddint bother to contest the line as they went prevent.

On Romo, I would have said he went from young cocky doctor to finesse surgeon. Where Romo used to rely on his wits and improvising on plays, now he can slice defenses when the offense allows it, but in this game, the offensive play calling was not up to the defense that was presented. Even tho Romo had limited time in the pre season it paid off because he didnt have as much rust as teh WR corp.

I noticed you left out Beasley as well, i dont know if because Beasley keeps remidning the fans hes not that good, and if he was off the roster tomorrow no one would notice. See Spencer. Beasley really really gave the Giants two gifts, One being 6 easy points for Cole being remarkably stupid and than giving the Giants a heck of a morale boost to really say "okay now we can stick it to them".

Even tho its a dvision game and yes they are the hardest. The Giants and Cowboys played to who made the least mistakes at the right time. Thats being more than kind. The Cowboys take the win, but the Giants said "we are NOT rolling over this year and we took a 12-4 team and went the distance" The statement can work for Coughlin has he has proven he doesnt have to win September to win the Super Bowl.

Not the best of games, but sometimes you have to get sloppy and messy to win a fight. Of course its the first game of the season but thats not an excuse considering 2 years ago both teams started the season and had a better game, even tho Elis first pass was to Ware.

Lets hope the play calling improves and the Cowboys learn to set the tone and force the opponents to match them instead of the other way around, lately its been Garretts credo to lower itself for lesser teams instead of just going out and putting the pedal to the metal. A lot of work to do, because the Eagles will be bringing a new set of chaos to the game. We dont know which Bradford will come to the game.
