i think Olave is better than Golden too,he was in the Tyler Smith draft class and the many WRs were picked in the first Rd but none have really been an all pro.

I'll withhold judgement until next offseason. If Golden gets 800 yards in his rookie season it would be better than anything we have after Lamb and around what Devonta Smith had for the Eagles. Last season Thomas Jr. and McConkey had better seasons than Harrison Jr. and Odunze who were ranked much higher so yo never know. Was watching Cosell talk about the WRs and last year he thought Thomas would translate well to the NFL and said he gets the same feeling about Golden.

Golden reminds me more of Garrett Wilson from the Jets.

i like Golden and agree that he will be solid in the NFL,one of the better no 2s in the league,my only concern is drafting a no 2 WR at 12.

I hate it. Especially when you consider the value we got with Lamb. Golden is ranked in that second tier that that has a lot of good but not great players. Brugler was saying that a lot of teams would love to trade down because of that. If one of the offensive lineman is there at 12 or even a QB maybe we could find a trade partner and move down to add some draft capital.

Really. I would accept that. I think with all 4 receiver prospects coming in for a visit, the Cowboys are trying to trade down. They would then pick the one that is left from their stack.

I like T-Mac the most, but would be fine with any of the 4 and an extra pick.

I tend to look at the Ladd McConkey comp, even though I haven't seen it. Ladd made an impact in the playoffs as he took over as WR1 for the Chargers.
Rookie stats: 82 rec, 1,149 yds, 7 TDs.
McConkey combine: 6'0 187, 4.39 (1.52 10), 36 vertical, 13 BP.
Ladd 's route running got him open at a high level, shredding NCBs.
* McConkey's best year college stats was 58 rec, 762 yds, 7 TDs. LM ascended into a better pro.

Golden combine: 5'11 191, 4.29 (1.49 10)
Golden playing opposite CeeDee gives him 1v1 coverage, so like Ladd the route running could lead to a impactful rookie season
* Golden's best stats year 58 rec, 987 yds, 9 TDs

I agree.

I think the upside with Golden is huge.

I also think that the Cowboys will show great faith in their new receivers coach in maximizing that potential.

That's interesting, the stats, draft grade 6.40 for Ladd, and measurables look similar, I'll have to look up McConkey's skill set. Whoever the best comp is I would be thrilled with Olave's, Wilson's, or McConkeys rookie production.

Just wanted to add to the comps you laid out to show a certain archetype Golden fits in and that archetype does really well immediately in the NFL.

Good Point, sometimes I get a little carried away with the draft profiles.

I really can’t decide what they are going to do. The smoke is on a receiver but you could argue they need a cornerback and running back more. I will believe the Pauline report you posted last month.

I never seen a receiver that slow always get behind corners like he did in college and the pros. His route running was phenomenal.
I remember @WillieBeamen posted how similar Ridley and Lambs measurables were back in 2020. Some guys just put up soso track numbers, but fly with the pads on.

Iirc one if the bigger knocks on Ridley was his age. 24 or 25 I believe. If he was 21/22 I think he may have went top 15, even 10
