The only arguments I think you'll get is over the "primes" of the players. For example, is greg ellis in his prime better than spencer in his prime? granted that was probably 12 games over 2 seasons.

Did any player on the list struggle with injuries as much as Lee?

I agree. But I only think there was one season where Spencer was clearly better than Ellis. Some of us forget how good Ellis was. Plus, I based it on longevity and consistency. Ellis was very consistent and played his entire career, a very good career, in the post-Super Bowl era. I don't think Spencer has much of an argument over Ellis.

But there are some argument you could probably make. For example, the final few years of Irvin's career vs Dez's career thus far, or vs TO's short career in Dallas. Or even the end of Aikman's career vs Romo's career thus far (though I think Romo clearly wins that battle). You could argue the final few years of Nate Newton's career vs some solid but not great guards we've had like Kosier and Bigg Davis. You could argue the safety Roy Williams because of the awful end to his time in Dallas. You could also argue Erik William's final years vs Tyron Smith's first few years.

Of course, there are a few you can't argue. Like Ware, Witten, Woodson, Flozell, Larry Allen, and probably Deion.

Yeah, I had the most trouble with LBers. Sean Lee is easily the most talented LB we've had in a long long time. Coakley has probably been the most consistent. Nguyen had a few really good seasons. But we haven't had a LB in the post-Super Bowl era who had a brilliant career, in my opinion. Had a lot of trouble with LB and the RG position.

I'd take Ellis over Spencer every time. Ty now, is better than post injury EWill.... who could have been on stage with LA if not for the accident.

I'm a huge Lee fan. I just want to see him stay on the field. If he ever could play 15-16 games a year, he'd be one of the best current LB's in the NFL.
