What players will you be zeroing in on at the combine?

For me,
1.Darryl Tapp - I want to see if he has the speed/agility/coverage ability to play OLB in the 3-4.

2.Bobby Carpenter - Concerned about his injury, I don't even know if he will be healthy enough to participate.

3.Manny Lawson - A natural freak of nature. If he runs a 4.43 at the combine, and shows great coverage technique, then I want this guy hands down.

4.Chad Jackson - He looked good at the senior challenge, I want to see how his route running is, and his quickness off the line.

5.Anthony Smith/ Pat Watkins - I like both of these free safeties, and I want to see if they have the speed and all that is needed to play this position at a high level in the NFL.

6.CB Devon Hester - RT Willie Hall - NT Jeff Littlejohn

7.Ever tweener in the draft.

Ive got a handful of WRs that I am looking at.

Aside from that, I need to see some more O-Linemen. Spencer, Scott, McNeill.

Also LBers.

I'm most interested in the wonderlic test scores. It's more important to see how fast and explosive players are on the field, in pads chasing ball carriers or running away from tacklers as the case may be. What players can do in shorts and track shoes doesn't mean too much. The real value of the combine is seeing how well injured players have recovered from their injuries, such as Bobby Carpenter, ascertaining a player's ability to switch positions, like a Micheal Robinson, and measuring how non-BCS players stack up athletically against their BCS counterparts.

Anyone who excelled at the position that they played in the Big 10, SEC, ACC, PAC 10, Big 12 and finished the season healthy shouldn't find their stock altered very much by the combine.

It will be interesting to find out if these players have the mental capacity to handle the non-physical aspects of the NFL.

Never thought of it like that, thanks for the tip.

I want to look at that kid Devon Hester, they say he started out playing WR, but then moved to CB, and is a return specialist.

I haven't heard anything but I doubt that he works out much. He'll probably save it for his on campus workout wich will also give him a few more weeks to rehab.

The latest I could find straight from the horse's mouth:

Bobby Carpenter said:
E-G:Speaking of the injury, how is the ankle injury healing?

BC:It is healing pretty good. It seemed to have stalled and I wasn't sure if it was getting better, but in the last week or so, it seems to have turned the corner and feels great. I shouldn't have any problems with it.

Good thing he has tons of game tape, lol. Atleast he won't hurt his stock if he doesn't workout.

I like your list, I'd add Maurice Stovall, Sinorice Moss, kai Parham, DeWayne Slay, Ko Simpson, and the BC OT Youngblood
