Much maligned early in the season Maher has proven us all wrong. 6th in FG percentage. Only 2 misses were from over 50 yards. 12-12 inside of 50. Guy kicked 2 60 yarders yesterday. The second might have been good from 65. 6/8 form 50-59. I trust Maher. I was wrong to doubt him.

You can apologize here..,

I don't have to apologize as I was one of the few fine with the move.

He has exceeded expectations though. Couldn't believe he hit the 60 yarder a second time!

Maher has been killing it this season. It is usually rare for me to feel proud about a kicker but that guy has had my chest hurting this year.

Kicked a 60-yarder WITH a hook. Hooked it to miss the upright. Stone cold stuff there. Gets erased from the scoreboard. Comes back and NAILS the next kick.

If my special effects skills were any good, I would make an animated gif morphing Maher's face over John Travolta strutting down the street in Saturday Night Fever. And would include the Bee Gees soundtrack.

"Ah! Ah! Ah! Staying aliiiiiiiive!"

Just the thought of making a 60 yard field goal just before halftime is absolutely insane. Seriously...insane. And then, AFTER the field goal is made, they take it away and say that it didn't happen! For most kickers in the NFL, they would have just lost what would have ultimately been the best kick of their entire career. On his second attempt, NO ONE blames him if he doesn't make it. He already did.

BUT HE KICKED ANOTHER 60 YARD FIELD GOAL TO END THE HALF!

Obviously, it never came down to that call, but I am weary of the Cowboys getting negative calls against them that look ridiculous to the way other games are called. I know every team gets bad calls. But we seem to get historical bad calls...calls they have to go back and rewrite the rule book so that they can appear unbiased. I known someone will post that it's just in my head. But...it is in my head! I can't seem to shake it.

I was certainly wrong about him.
He has taken what I thought would be a weakness on the team and made it a strength,
Its a win/win for everyone !

Those "two" sixty yarders would tie him for second most 60+ yard field goals in NFL history. And he did it within 5 minutes haha.

Oh and it would tie him for 2nd all time behind himself with 4 60+ yarders.

Edit: I never was really against him comming back so I don't need to apologize, but I also never expected him to be as good as he has been so far (so for that I apologize).
