Two grown men, a dad and a vice principal, getting in a heated conversation about the Cowboys at your kids' school=priceless!

THIS:lmao:

Why anyone would think that the Man (GM) who fired a 2 time defending SB champ Head Coach only to hire Barry Switzer, Chan Gailey, Dave Campo and now Wade Phillips as Head Coach for the most visible NFL franchise in the country deserves any blame for the current state of this franchise is beyond me. :)

Oh and I didn't even mention the '98 draft that will still haunt us this coming Sunday. What's Greg Ellis doing these days?

When you're the leader, even if it's not your fault...it's still your fault.

I generally stick up for Jerry.

My issue with the anti-Jerry crowd is that they are more interested in being fans of ripping Jerry than they are into being fans of the team.

There's nothing wrong with criticizing Jerry. But when the team doesn't reach absolute perfection and does pretty well, they still can't and will not give him any credit for success.

YR

Its been over 15 years buddy since they have reached "pretty well".....Wasn't that when Jimmy Johnson COACHED the cowboys....Since then JERYY Jones has done nothing but destroy the legacy of the Cowboys... WHen Jerry was a rookie owner he had the football people around him to build a winner... since then he has dished the Football GODs and in-turn dimminished the tradition and character of the TEAM....Not the Franchise....he still making millions off that....at the TEAMS expense TMZ Football does not win Championships.....but it does line the owners pockets

Just wondering here, how many years has it been since Minnesota, San Francisco, or Green Bay have walked away with a Lombardi...again? Perhaps you might then add Philadelphia and Washington as well....only going for recent performances within conference also.

It's pretty obvious this is Jerry's fault. If you don't think that way, you've had a good life so far since you've never had to work in such an organization.

Jerry the owner would not give the head coach full authority. He undermines the head coach. All the players know who the head guy is and it is not the head coach. And also, he won't let the coach hire his own people. So the assistant coaches know that Jerry is the man they report to and not the head coach. As much as I hated Bill Parcells, he would have done much better in Dallas if he did not have to play nice with Jerry. Do you think someone like Rex Ryan can work under Jerry. He might, but he will never be as effective.

Jerry the GM was the worst GM from 1994 to 2003. Recently, he is maybe somewhere in the middle. Our problems at kicker and free safety says it all. Most college teams I watch on Saturday have better kickers than us. And who hired the OC before the head coach. And who hired the head coach?

Are you referring to me? If you are, that's not what I said.

I didn't tell you we needed a mission statement, I was expressing my confusion over what appears to me to be a lack of direction, What I actually wrote is:

"If the Cowboys have a mission statement for the organization, I would love to know what it is. I get the feeling there isn't one."

Whatever you want to call it, I don't care. I was attempting to express my confusion over what the Cowboys are currently all about, Jerry used to make it very clear, now he talks in circles:
I have no idea who said it to me. None at all. I couldn't have told you who said it with a gun to my head. I'm just stunned by the idea.

The problem I have with you Hos is that you're strident in your posts, dismissive of people whose opinions differ from you're own and you speak all too often in absolutes.

I don't care how long you've watched, played, coached, etc, you will never be omniscient and as a result you're opinions and beliefs are subject to being flawed (as are mine and everyone else's). So I believe a little humility should be mixed into anyone's posts (and that includes me).

If you can prove you're omniscient, then by all means do, I'll be happy to sit at your feet and listen to you pontificate about all things.

Better yet, lets go to Vegas and get rich, I'll buy!
That's funny, because I'm the guy telling everyone that no one is omniscient.

Have I or have I not been saying I don't know where this team will end up and neither does anyone else?

Yeah, those who are critical have worked for the Cowboys.

Lol, I think if I were attempting to be both nastalgic and a fry chef, that I would combine fried green tomatoes, fried chicken, fried grits, fried and spiced up pimienton cheese cakes with ham on a bun....ham works as well as the standbye bacon. :D

Fry everything, people will buy it.

Executive decision #27.
