That started with Colombo. One week after being overpowered by Giants defensive end Michael Strahan, Colombo faced perhaps the NFL's best pass rusher in Peppers, who had no sacks Sunday.
"I wanted to show people that I could play in a big game against a big opponent," Colombo said.

When they showed his plays during the game Peppa look very frustrated.
It was nice to see the guy come back from the spanking he took last week.

so which is reality?

the NY game, or the carolina game?

and which do we get next from colombo? the NY game, or the carolina game?

still waiting on the OL to do something consistently...

I think both games are reality. Carolina did not run anything exotic. The Giants did. I don't think Dallas has the most physical or most talented line, but when they get a body on the defender they can do alright. The real problems that occur are mental mistakes. They don't get in position because they are looking somewhere else which causes them to whiff on a defender.

Flozell did that last night. As long as he was looking for his guy he did alright. The one time he started his drop by looking inside by the time he looked outside the guy had too much of a head start and sacked Romo. If Flozell started on the outside the guy would have never touched Romo.

Reminds me of the great debate we had on this board a while ago. The one that said what was more a valuable a great DE or RB in other words would you rather have Reggie White or Emmitt Smith.

I said I would rather have the great RB everyday of the week, because a great DE can be shut down by a single player. The same can not be said of a RB. It takes an entire defense focus to shut down a great RB.

I still would not mind having Julius Peppers though!:D

I think Columbo is one of those guys that the 'what keeps parcells awake' article discusses--you know, the boxer that doesn't quit. I don't think he's a pro-bowler or anything, but he looks like a fighter for sure.

I thought Columbo was outstanding last night. He literally "beat-up" Peppers.

Well, I think it was Romo's feet that helped Colombo more than anything else. Just a thought.

I swear sometimes people only look at the stat sheet and don't watch the game.

Columbo handled Strahan against the Giants. Strahan's first sack came when he was unblocked by design and Bledsoe made the incorrect read. Strahan's second sack was Bledsoe standing in the pocket for 15 seconds patting the ball, Strahan looped almost to the right DT and still found Bledsoe standing in the same spot. He never seemed to beat Columbo when they were engaged.

I haven't rewatched this game yet, but on first glance, there were at least two possibly three time where Peppers beat Columbo off the edge but Romo had stepped up or gotten rid of the ball quickly.

Bledsoe in that ball game and everyone's screaming that Columbo can't block and Peppers is a stud with his multiple sacks.

This guy was leading the league in sacks against guys like Mcnair and Brees. Romo's movement may have helped, but Colombo almost completely dominated Peppers. he couldn't get near Romo.

I was doing alot of things at once during this game, so I could be wrong about this particular thing. I just saw Romo sidestep alot of pressure in this game.

He stepped up alot, and well. But that's to be expected (granted, not considering what we HAD been used to). Colombo was pushing Peppers out of the play consistently. I think only Flozell had troubles, and that was only once or twice that I noticed. Romo's mobility as a boon can't be denied. 2 sacks a game isn't too terrible.

OK, cool. Didn't get to watch it like I normally do, hope to catch a replay on NFL network, lol.

I do like how Romo does move around in the pocket while still looking downfield instead of just watching the pressure like some QBs we know. Course, watching the pressure is usually a sign of a QB who is done. I feel kinda bad for Drew, but there is nothing that can be done. Hopefully the team and fans will treat him with the respect he deserves.

I was a Bledose fan, you guys and Romo won me over, Bledsoe 4.5 to finally throw it, Romo, like 2.0 or less seconds, whatever his shortcomings its look, bam throw it, no patting or whatever, he also doesn't look at the same guy every play either. I didn't get to see any deep balls from romo but they were in 2 cover all night...
