I think they go S, DL (T or E) with 2nd and 3rd round. RB in the 4th.

Needs: RB

Wants: WR, TE n 1Tech (me personally)

Roster looks solid assuming Dlaw is there. There is room for upgrades at several positions.

Safety is obvious. Heath would make a very good backup and special teams player. I don't hate the guy but do believe the position should be upgraded.
RB - looks like an obvious spot to address and there are plenty of options going deep into the draft.
WR - looks decent even if not addressed. Cedric Wilson and Devin Smith both have the potential to eliminate a need to address it but I would take one and cut Hurns saving some cap space. Maybe use it to sign Jaylon Smith or Jones early.
TE- I want to see more Jarwin and Schultz but wouldn't be surprised if they take another.
OL - I think they are set here. Collins possibly leaving next year does leave it as a possibility.
DE - It is highly likely that one gets drafted but as long as they get Dlaw in the fold there is no emergency.
DT - Another position highly likely to be addressed in the draft. Not an emergency situation either though. Covington was a nice add.
LB - about as solid as a position group can be. Wouldn't be surprised to see a late round addition to compete with Covington and Queiro.
CB - another solid group but Richards refusal to see Lewis for the gem he is and Jones being due a huge pay raise does mean I wouldn't be surprised to see one.

Draft would look something like this.

2. Rapp S
3. Isabella WR
4. Daylon Mack DT
4. Maxx Crosby DE
5. Bryce Love RB
7. Packaged with the 5th to move up and get Bryce love.

Roster
QB Dak, Rush and White
RB Zeke, Love and DJackson
FB Olawale
WR Cooper, Gallup, Isabella, Tavon Austin, Brown and Wilson
TE Witten, Jarwin, Schultz and Gaithers
OL Smith, Williams, Fred, Martin, Collins, Flemming, Looney, Sua' Filo

DE Dlaw, Taco, Armstrong, Crawford, Crosby, (Gregory susp)
DT Collins, Woods, Ross, Covington, Mack
LB Jaylon, LVE, Lee, Thomas. Lillard, Covington
S Rapp, Woods, Heath, and Frazier
CB Jones, Awuzie, Brown, Lewis, Goodwin

ST LP, Maher, Jones

There are gonna be more free agents signings
They won’t be big names but we don’t have 53 players under contract, plus we need camp bodies

Is Dlaw's franchise tag valid if he fails the pre-camp physical?

Your roster looks pretty close although it's hard to see Rico making the team and Witten shouldn't be first string (even though we know he will be and play 90 percent of the snaps).

Draft picks should bump a few off as well.

The Cowboys currently have 67 players on the roster. Only the top 51 contracts count against the salary CAP (plus all prorated signing bonuses for all players). Of those 67 players, 12 have made the Pro Bowl at least once, and 8 of those Pro Bowl players have been named to All-Pro teams.

Here they are according to their draft pick status:

1st round picks – 9 players

  • 4th – *Amari Cooper, WR – 2015 (Raiders) - 3x Pro Bowl
  • 4th – *Ezekiel Elliott, RB – 2016 - 2x Pro Bowl - 2x All-Pro, 2x NFL rushing champion
  • 8th – *Tavon Austin, WR – 2013 (Rams)
  • 9th – *Tyron Smith, OT – 2011 - 6x Pro Bowl, 4x All-Pro
  • 16th – *Zack Martin, OG – 2014 - 5x Pro Bowl, 5x All-Pro
  • 19th – *Leighton Vander Esch, LB – 2018 - 1x Pro Bowl, 1x All-Pro
  • 27th – *Byron Jones, CB – 2015 - 1x Pro Bowl
  • 28th – *Taco Charlton, DE – 2017
  • 31st – *Travis Frederick, C – 2013 - 4x Pro Bowl, 3x All-Pro
2nd round picks – 8 players
  • 33rd – *Xavier Su’a Filo, OG – 2014 (Texans)

Good information.

Seems like Taco is the only first round pick without at least a probowl. Austin is another but thought he made it as a returner one year.

Our QB is the only 4th round pick with a probowl and he has 2 in 3 years.

Seems like way to many undrafted guys.

Every team has a bunch of undrafted players at this point in the year. Also, Austin never made a Pro Bowl, and the only reason Taco Charlton is projected as the starter is because of Randy Gregory's suspension.

From 2010 to present, the Cowobys have drafted Pro Bowl or All-Pro players in every season except 2012 & 2017

2010 - Dez Bryant, Sean Lee
2011 - Tyron Smith
2012 - none
2013 - Travis Frederick
2014 - Zack Martin, DeMarcus Lawrence
2015 - Byron Jones
2016 - Ezekiel Elliott, Dak Prescott
2017 - none
2018 - Leighton Vander Esch
2019 - used 1st round pick to trade for 3x Pro Bowl WR Amari Cooper (drafted in 2015)

The other two decorated players were acquired in 2003 (Witten) and 2005 (Ladouceur).

This is great. Thank you.

Surprised only one seventh rounder. Heath days looked numbered looking at this. He had his moment. I understand why they kept him til now. But if they keep him after this year, I’d be surprised. Hell land on another team I’m sure.

Whoops. Delete DT Caraun Reid, and add TE Codey McElroy. Still a 67 man roster. With 6 draft picks, that will take the Cowboys to 73 players. They will need to sign 17 veteran or college free agents to get to 90 players before training camp.
