All these injuries and playing next week?

I'm scratching my head not understanding how the many players that got dinged or injured against the 9ers and their uncertain status for next week against the Commanders.

Romo - came back in and finished the game
Witten - injured early but played through and finished or played late into the game
Austin - injured early but played through and finished or played late into the game
Felix - injured early but played through and finished or played late into the game
Jenkins - injured early but played through and finished or played late into the game

I mean if they are able to continue playing yesterday, which is commendable to all, why couldn't they suit up for Monday night against a division opponent?

Not dismissing the seriousness of their injuries but they played through it yesterday, why wouldn't a week remove any question that they'll be on the field Monday?

Austin wasn't necessarily injured early. He said he had just felt that he couldn't run correctly with the hamstring on a play or two before the 3rd down attempt with him as the running back.

I wouldn't be surprised if most of those guys played. The only one who may not is Austin.

Other guys are just gonna have to step up.

As long as Romo and Ware are playing, I feel like we have a chance vs. anyone.

If Felix can't go, start Murray
Murray was the best RB last night. I didn't notice if he blocked any blitzers or not, but he's rumored to do well in that respect.

To the point of the OP. I think Austin didn't play after the hamstring got worse, so it's hard to predict whether he'll play next week, but we should have Dez back by then.

I think both Romo and Witten will play.

Newman should be back and I think Jenkins will hang it there.

Felix will probably be ready to go.

Felix is at risk as is Romo, too. Watchful waiting.

Babe said very early in commentary that he thought Austin was carrying an injury. He also mentioned later that Dockery looked a bit dinged.

Injuries is still a part of the game and the players know that you can only go to war with the soldiers you have and not the ones that are not there.

Red and Crazy Rob will have them ready. I cannot wait to see what Rob has in store for Gross.

YES.....we will still show up. The youngsters have to step up. That is all. :)

The cool down and treatment they got last night, and treatment they get the next couple of days will be critical. Hopefully its enough to get them through the bye week. Romo's injury will take weeks, hopefully he can protect it enough the next couple of weeks to fully heal.

Yesterday's game brought out the character in a lot of guys. They toughed it out thru injury and found a way to win. Some unusual suspects stepped up (Ogletree, Holley, Ball). I think the Cowboys are finding an indentity and they will improve as the season goes on. I just hope this is the beginning of a winning streak while they improve.

Tell them all to rub some dirt on it and get out there.;)

dirt and the tobacco juice the coach would spit on it

seriously, it would be nice to get everyone healthy -- extra incentive for the Skins at home

....that he was out 2 weeks with same injury and he couldn't believe Romo played with it. Romo looked in total AGONY as he left the field...Austin, Felix and Romo all doubtful for next week IMO...those are damn hard injuries to play effectively with. If Kitna has to start.................:(

Murray picked up one blitz last night that would have sent Romo to the hospital. He's pretty good.

Thanks. I've read that he's a good blocker.

Would be completely shocked if Austin plays next week. Or the week after that.

Ditto Romo - the last QB that I can remember with fractured ribs was Vick last season and he sat out what, 3 weeks and came back with a flakjacket. I'd say Romo probably needs at least two.

Did you just say Ball?
