They got rid of Amari and didn't replace him with anyone. Lamb is not a #1 receiver no matter how much Jerry wants him to be.
Exactly...throwing that #88 on him was like putting lipstick on a pig.

Sorry Jerry....not buying it.

Better go get Dez and Beasley...kiss *** and make up.

There are mounds of evidence to deem this Front Office as incompetent, but the only piece you really need is this: you trade a true number one receiver, for a fifth round draft pick, when you just gave up a first round draft pick for him four years ago! CeeDee Lamb is good, but he is no Amari Cooper. In fact, I would say that the presence of Amari on the field made CeeDee a better receiver.
no, all you need to know is when jerry said when they are talking about the cowboys he has done his job....that's what jerry thinks is his job to have people talking about the cowboys. a GMs job is winning. not radio waves.

Correct....but if Cooper can have a poor stat line and still be a #1WR can't we give Lamb a little more time other than week 1 as well?

This is not a negative Lamb post. My point was this: having Cooper on the team opened up the field for other receivers. Teams had to account for Cooper AND Lamb. We now have a team, at the present, where teams only have to account for Lamb. Anyone who believes this offense is better than last year's offense is simply not being honest. Noah Brown has 493 yards his entire career as a Cowboy, and he is your WR2 to start the season. Your WR3 is an undrafted WR. I think Dak is an ok QB, and to trot him out there with these receivers was a recipe for disaster.

I have been, and still am of the same opinion in regard to Shultz. I don't think he's bad, I just think he benefitted greatly by the trio of WRs around him. Now lets see.

Cooper went downhill & that's why Lamb outplayed him in 2021. Numbers don't lie. That's "the only piece you really need".

The Browns restructured Cooper's contract; and if the reports are accurate, Cooper wanted the Cowboys to do the same thing. They traded him for a 5th round draft pick.......FIFTH ROUND; and who did they draft in the 5th round? Matt Waletzko, a tackle from North Dakota.

Cooper wasn't out of here because of money. This was personal.

Cooper was cut because Jerry didn’t like his vaccination status. I won’t get into that as it’s very controversial but I’m pretty sure it was reported cooper was willing to redo his deal to stay and that option was never offered. The issue is the owner letting talent go because he doesn’t agree with something that regardless of position is a personal choice.

Cooper while overpaid wasn’t targeted enough at all and was still someone established who defenses had to know where he was at all times. He opened things up for others. U wanna let him go? Ok but bring in a replacement that can do the same on some level.

that's simply not true, it was about getting rid of a 20 million dollar player that wasn't playing at a 20 million dollar level.

He wasn’t playing close to that level because he was targeted like 28th or something in league. He would have redone his deal

Cooper went downhill & that's why Lamb outbeat him with the numbers in 2021. That's "the only piece you really need".

In 2020, Cooper averaged 12.1 ypc. In 2021, he averaged 12.7. Sure he caught fewer passes for fewer yards, but let's not forget that he was out two games due to COVID. There is no real evidence that Coop went downhill. In 2021, Cooper had 68 catches, and Lamb had 79 -11 more. In 2021, Cooper had 865, and Lamb had 1102 - 237 more yards. So, your theory that Lamb beat him out because Cooper went down hill his not really based in fact. And, again, Coop was out two games.

Salary dump. All trading Cooper was about. They took the highest offer they got. That simple.
If they didn't trash him in the media prior to the trade they would have got better value.
But Jerry and Stephen can't keep their mouths shut when someone puts a mic in their face.

Restructuring Coop's contract was the right thing to do; moving on from him was the absolute wrong thing to do. You can't just take his stats from yesterday and imply that was his overall contribution. Coop opens up the field for other receivers; which is why, in my opinion, Lamb had a productive year last year. So, if we look at Coop's stats from yesterday, then it's fair to look at Lamb's. Our WR1 had 2 receptions for 29 yards. There's no other way to look at it, our incompetent front office destroyed the #1 offense in a matter of weeks.
