2018 -
- $2.5M Signing Bonus,
- $2.5M base salary,
- $1M 46-man roster bonuses ($625K LTBE) - Since Hurns only played in 10 games in 2017, only $625K of the roster bonuses are "likely to be earned."
- 2018 CAP hit - $1.25M SB + $2.5M Sal + 0.625M RB = $4.375M
- Cowboys have option for 2nd year that must be exercised by final annual league year
- $4M base salary
- $1M 46-man roster bonuses
- $0.5M 75% of snaps - performance bonus
- $0.5M 85% of snaps - performance bonus
- 2019 CAP hit - $1.25M SB + $4M Sal = $5.25M
- Additional possible salary CAP hits
- up to $375K for 2018 roster bonuses ($62.5K for each game more than 10 games played)
- up to $1M for LTBE roster bonuses based on # of games played in 2018
- $0.5M if Hurns played more than 75% of snaps in 2018
- $0.5M if Hurns played more than 85% of snaps in 2018
- Max 2019 Salary CAP hit of $5.25M + $2.375M if Hurns plays all games and 85% of snaps in 2018 = $7.625M
- 2020 CAP hit for bonuses earned in 2019 but not counted as LTBE bonuses in 2019 Salary CAP
- Cole Beasley is on the trading table
- One of Dez Bryant or Terrance Williams is on the trading table
- The Cowboys can still draft a rookie WR, and if he earns the starting job opposite an existing Cowboys WR, then the Cowboys can opt out of the Hurns contract.
- The Cowboys could conceivably have a starting WR pair of Hurns and a rookie in 2019, and all three of the Cowboys incumbent receivers could be gone.
- If Bryant bounces back with a big year, the Cowboys can keep Bryant and Hurns, or Bryant and a rookie WR in 2019
