I kinda wish we had him starting for our team right now,,, :horse:

then again, until this evening I would have gladly accepted a trade for Rex Grossman who has already thrown 2 INTs in the first half.

maybe these snap judgements are a bad idea... :p:

The sad part about having TUNA as our coach is that he refuses to go with the youth movement at QB.

This is really depressing for me.

To me - you BUILD your team around a young qb b/c it takes 3 years for him to get up to speed usually. (Leinart might be quicker b/c of where he came from)

Point being, if Tuna did that in his 1st year - we might be in a really good spot right now at QB for years to come. There are obviously no "guarantees" but c'mon - nothing ventured - nothing gained!!!

and puleeeeeeeeeeeeeease don't say that Quinty was starting material in the NFL.

Vinny??? Drew???

:bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

No Longhorn fan that saw the second half of the Rose Bowl called him a bust.

Big words - Jimmy loves him some Longhorns.

Leinhart is a fantastic player. I'll be honest - I felt the same way about Palmer coming out - he kinda gave me pause. But man, USC turns some good talent.

I said it before and will say again, I thought Matt Lienart doesn't have a strong arm and I don't he still does. I have said he might need to be in right system to succeed. I still think Vince Young will be the best among the three QBs in draft this year. Different year, I would have thought that about Lienart, I just see that it with Vince Young, not that Lienart can't be good.

I think the thing that no one really noted out in UT - Young doesn't have Vick speed, and he isn't quite as good with his feet as McNabb. His legs are nearly negated thus far as a QB. He is really going to have to develop his passing more. We'll see - he is a high risk, high reward kind of guy.

we'll NEVER have a young QB as long as Bill "Win Now" Parcells is here.

I just wanted to point out what I said in the official thread, and I'm going to get SERIOUSLY hosed by it.

I think that Leinart will have growing pains - no doubt, all young QBs do.

That being said, Arizona is straight up beating the Bears defense. The Bears aren't making mistakes - the Cards are just playing better. The Bears have even pressured Leinart several times with blitzes that came in unblocked - and Leinart was savvy enough to either make them pay with a hot read or at least get rid of it. I don't think he's taken a sack.

My point is this - their rook is playing efficiently and hasn't turned the ball over. I would bet you a large sum of money that if that was us and Bledsoe was in there, we would have been sacked 2-3 times already with the same pressure AND have 2-3 turnovers. I am dead serious on this.

i hate to say it, but i don't see how we are going to do it with Bledsoe.

it ain't happening.

Bledsoe could play lights out for the next 5 games, and it won't matter.

JJ needs to wake up and smell the flowers...

i would be thrilled if i woke up tomorrow and found out that Drew and TO were given 1 way tickets out of town.

and Tuna is next with his holier than thou and i'm smarter than everyone else attitude. :bang2:

we got the makings of a GREAT young team.

we are 1 stud quarterback and 1 aggressive coach away from being the young fun bunch again. :bounce:

I still think that the poor guy's career will be cut short by the case of syphillis he undoubtedly contracted from Paris Hilton, before you know it he'll be forgetting plays and fishing out of the team whirl pool in the training room.;)

I didn't think he had an arm strong enough to be good in the NFL. He hasn't thrown a bomb or a laser yet but he is doing well with dink and dunk passes tonight.

Whatever scores a touchdown is really the only matter.

He threw some very accurate long passes last week.

I know little about Leinart - does he have a rep for getting passses batted down? He's had quite a few hit at the line today.

When he plays good for 3 seasons I'll admit Im wrong. For now I still don't think he's all that. Realistically he is in a passing offense with 2 first round (Johnson, and fitz)wr's, and a second rounder (Boldin) and has Edge picking up blocks the line missed.

Out of all the qbs he's in by far the best situation to excel. Denver and Tennessee don't have weapons like Lienart.

So I'm not shocked he's doing well, I still just don't think he's gonna be a great NFL qb. maybe good, not great.

Give him 3 years then I'll say I was wrong

tough loss for leinart and company. can't blame matt. he put his team in position for a 40 yard game-winner... and rackers hiccupped.

he will be a failure not so much because of him but because of the Cardinals, they are cursed so Leinart is cursed. He needs to get the hell out of town when he becomes a FA

Wait, I thought Rackers could hit 6 inch wide goalposts at will.

That was a great game, but Leinart deserved that win. Kickers suck.

He did things tonight against the blitz that many vets can't do, especially tall retreads that come through Dallas.

I think Leinhart would be a great QB for us.

which is why i would have happily given our #18, our number 2, next year's number 1, Greg Ellis, Scott Shanle, Booby Petiti, my 401k, my brother, mother, sister, dog - bandit, and case of athletic supporters for Arizona's pick... hence - Matt Leinart... :banghead:

instead, 35 years of Cowboy fandom and guided success (and spoildom) under the competent watch of the great Roger Staubach (bow) and Troy Aikman (bow) brings me to QC, Vinny, and Drew over the past 6 years of my dreadful existence...

i suppose last year's draft is all water under the bridge....

or is it water over the bridge? :laugh2:

i think i'm going to go stab myself in the eye with a steak knife now.

Please Jerry Jones... Please Jeff Ireland... Please Santa Clause and tooth fairy.... can we finally ONCE AND FOR ALL GET IT RIGHT? :lmao2:

You all know who you are.....have the guts to come in and tell us what a bust he's going to be?

Come on...let's hear it.
It's the rest of the team that let him down.

My biggest question with him is how he'll take the losses as they pile up. You can tell he's a competitor -- one of those cocky guys whose cockiness is part of the reason he's so good -- but he's also shown, IMO, to not take losses so well. I dunno, he struck me as a bit of a whiny crybaby after losing to Texas last year.

I just wonder if he can handle losing for a while and still maintain that edge that has made him so great.

Physically, he's already shedding the weak arm label. His two starts have been nothing short of amazing, IMO. I haven't really seen a rookie QB play that well two games in before.
