OK, I've calmed down.

Week 1: Cut Alex Barron!

Week 2: Fire Jason Garrett!

Week 3: JUST WIN.

After the first two weeks, I was fed up, I had enough. I watched the team under perform in the preseason despite playing without a game plan, and I told myself that it was only the preseason and that posters here were wrong. And then here I am after two games doing exactly the opposite of what I pride myself on: whining!

Well, two weeks in, and we've lost to what appear to be at this point inferior yet scrappy teams, but mostly over boneheaded mistakes. And, man, there were a lot of them. "Drive-Killers" as we like to call them. So now what do we do? Where does our team turn?

I'm not sure, but with the information surfacing this week about players being upset with the execution of practice, and the attention to detail, and the possibility that Wade is not the disciplinarian that everyone says he is (and is now at odds, possibly, with Garrett over discipline?) I'm ready to go on ahead and see what Garrett can do with this team. Maybe he's ready? Maybe he's standing there on the sidelines seeing the bumbling of errors and thinking back to the Jimmy Johnson years when he was Troy's backup, just wishing he could make those guys sprint it out at practice on Monday.

We're not sure, and I'm not sure we'll find out soon...but I will say if we end up 0-3 and the loss is a comedy of errors again, I'm ready to hand the keys to the young guy and see what he can do. This collection of "Super Bowl" talent is not getting any younger.

I kinda feel like it's time for this year's Miles Austin to emerge. Maybe Mike Jenkins if he's healthy, or Witten, or MB3 or Felix, or Alan Ball. I don't know but somebody needs to make 1 or 2 big plays for this team to win.

I can remember a 2nd Lieutenant joining our unit in the Far East. He was a 'little' All American at guard for Reno Nevada. The first time he ran wind sprints with our unit, there was a parting of lines as he ran through. We made him an 'authentic' Infantry Officer by tour's end. He invited some of us, after hours, to practice collegiate levels of wrestling on a one on one basis. He actually toyed with us then. In a riding position, one couldn't even reach around his barrell chest, much less control his down arm in a riding position.

There is a progression, and game #2 in the beginning of a new season, usually is the biggest gain in production for forming teams. The Cowboys aren't exactly in that category, but they did make some strides offensively this past week.

The team meeting means that the message is getting to the players on responsibility and leadership. After action reports are great when longer periods of time are involved between conflicts, but on the field and on the spot decisions are the sway of battle in the field. Identification is now on the player's agenda and it is their job to now take that up on the carpet.

I eagerly await the throw down, and old gunslinger's mid street battle, between Schaub and Romo.

I still want Alex Barron cut.

So do I. I cleaned up my signature because it was out of character for me, but make no mistake I want him cut, boneheaded holding penalty aside.

I hear your pain. I think Romo's play is the key to getting the offense in rhythm. He's made some terrible throws that have killed drives and some bad decisions (Choice lateral) that have cost us points. He's the key and will make everyone else look good. If he comes out like the previous two games, I think we're in trouble. As a QB, you can have a good game stat-wise (yards, etc..), but your team can be terrible. This is how we've been playing.

This team running on all cylinders would be a thing of beauty.

Well I won't pretend that I watch game tape of the offensive line but I didn't hear Barron's name once on Sunday. Not even sure how many snaps he played but I don't see the problem with Barron playing in doses. Him starting is where the problem comes in.

I think that both Kyle Kosier and Marc Colombo played the entire game....

To add to that, they used Spears on the offensive line instead of bringing in Barron.

Romo can be clicking like crazy but if Martellus Bennett blocks someone in the back on a long first down completion or someone false starts, it kills the drive.

We're far to undisciplined as a football team to get over the hump. Disciplined teams can win despite an off day by their QB.

I didn't hear his name either, because he was in street clothes :lmao:

Meet Dez Bryant.

Cassy, help me out.
I am reading yo post and I cannot say I find anything new in there.
Ever thing you said has been said before, only better.
Am I missing some salient, new and perhaps logical point to the list of oh-poor-me blues number?
I agree with your premises but why regurgitate that today?
What you wrote was so last Tuesday.
Go back and give something new and intriguing. Thanks you, your lege, gimme. :)

I am been calm all year so far.

Only 1 game back.

The Vikes are also 0-2.

Barron should be cut - waste of a roster space - Brewster could have held better than that.

Garrett stinks as a playcaller but no different than last year.

Oline is getting back together.

Even a record of 0-3 would not have us out of it other than the media/fans coming down on the team like a ton of bricks.

I think we win. I am coming to Dallas on Halloween and I fully expect to be on a 4 game win streak when I get there!

Another new thing to blame Romo for. Now he also has to hold onto the football for the RB!!

Barron didn't play. Maybe he had some special teams snaps but that's it. I think we should give him a boost in pay for finding a way not to commit any penalties even though he was riding the pine. How worthwhile is it to keep a guy that can "play in doses" and even that's a stretch? He's a 10 yard penalty waiting to happen.

Nah, just cut him. Or pay him to go back and play for St. Louis.

Sad part is St. Louis still got the better end of that deal.

Right there with ya.. At any rate it seems clear the team would be better off with someone else calling the plays!

I just think that in light of the practice comments, maybe Garrett will have no tolerance for mistakes where it seems like Phillips runs practices/discipline the same way as his defense: bend don't break.
