What would you do?

I'm in a GM mock, have the Cowboys.

Traded up with Cleveland in Round 1 to grab Peterson. Gave up our 3rd in the process.

Traded down with the Raiders in the 2nd to #48 and picked up #112 in the 4th.

So now I'm sitting here at 48 in the 2nd. My selection is in 2 picks and my target in the 2nd round Wiz and Cannon are both gone.

I have Ryan Mallet, Orlando Franklin and Davon House as the most intreaguing options or I have an offer on the table from the Patriots for their 2nd round pick #60 and 3rd #92.

I traded down 8 spots with talent on the board and then the worst case scenario happened. I could reach here for Kenrick Ellis or James Carpenter as well.

What do you guys think? I'm leaning towards taking the trade at this point.

Not knowing who else is available, I'd take the trade. Add another pick.
I would love to get Peterson.
I'm a big LSU fan and I saw Walt Julip in the press box at halftime of the Cotton Bowl (real nice guy) and I told him to make sure Jerry watched Peterson. he just kind of laughed and said that Jerry definitley knew about PP.

That's awful.......that's what I'm afraid of in the 2nd.

Wiz, Pouncey and the top 5 or so OT's gone.

Can you post everyone who is off the board?

Rahim Moore and Ijanala gone?

SDogo, this is exactly why I dont want to trade up to get Peterson.

If we trade down and pick up (as an example) #17 and 33 from NE, now we have 3 picks in the top 41.

If we go OT like smith/costanzo/carimi/sherrod (at 17), CB like harris (at 33) and OG (like wiz or cannon or ijalana (at 41) and then take D. williams in the 3rd, suddenly we have improved our team a whole heck of a lot more than in the scenario in your OP.

agreed, giving up a 3rd for PP is dangerous imo. Just sit tight and let the draft come to you. Now, in trying to recoup what you gave up you'll end up with a 2009 draft all over again(save for PP)

I think it was a mistake to trade up using the 3rd round pick.
