Am I the only one that didn't know Free has a fracture?

It's a very slight fracture. He was standing on the sideline during the game, so it must not have been too bothersome.

Everything I had read said a foot sprain. Never heard them call it a fracture.

Doug Free has certainly shown us perseverance pays off. The fans were all over him, the Cowboys management forced him to take a pay cut, yet here we all are today, looking forward to his return as soon as possible because his presence makes the team better. I love happy endings, and this one may be happier yet.

After the game Free said he was fine.

Day after the game this was the report at DC.com...no mention of fracture.

I found it in Jones' report two days after Seattle. Had missed that....I was just thinking a sprain the whole time.

Sprains can actually be worse than the small stress fractures in terms of time to heal and the lingering effects. Fracture sounds worse, but I think this was very likely a small one and not something they're overly concerned about. I just would like Free back for the PHI games.

Wait, Free still has a right foot? So it was the left that got amputated?

The initial diagnoses is always a sprain. You can never rely on that.

True, Thomas Duncan's initial diagnosis was also "sprain"...
