I know this is petty but the old Cowboys turf from the late 80's and 90's. I know astro turf is all gone and it helps the players from injures but that turf was speacil. Espically the yardlines the way they were printed to me symbolized the Cowboys in another fashion. Opinions

are you talking about the style and appearance? Because the quality of the old turf was like concrete. I walked on it and had an inflamed achillies tendon just by walking on it. I can only imagine the unneccesary injuries from playing on it. The new stuff is like walking on sponge.

The old turf looked "blotchy" after it rained. The new turf is superior, save for the endzone colors.

I wish they'd make the star and the endzones navy blue again and make the 20 yard lines red, white and blue like they had at that time, only using this new style of turf.

Actually, I like grass.....but, it is expensive for the clubs to maintain.

I remember when I preferred turf over grass in large part because Dorsett was more effective on turf.

But since Tony retired I have so wanted grass in Texas Stadium. The RealGrass is a decent compromise til the new stadium opens.

I have a piece of that turf cut into a star shape and framed on my wall surrounded by Cowboy football cards.
