How many perennial 1000+ yard #1 receivers do you see in the NFL that aren't constantly celebrating 6 yard catches for first downs and finding the nearest camera whenever they score a touchdown? The answer is not very many. The way Amari shows up, dusts your best corner and jogs to the sideline is completely unlike any other WR I've seen in todays game. Seriously, Amari Cooper seems to be more humble and workman-like than even most high school level receivers. Is it the Alabama in him? I feel like Nick Saban puts out a certain type of player. Julio Jones has a similar demeanor too. His stone cold attitude sets the tone for the receiver group.

I know is this guy takes some heat from fans for disappearing some times, but I honestly don't know where this team would be if we never got him. Even though not many people remember this, through the first few games of 2018 Dak's meh performance from 2017 had carried through to the new season and there were serious doubts about his ability to take our team to the next level. He was struggling to even throw for 200 yards. The trade for Amari was a turning point in Dak's career as well as for this franchise as a whole. Our passing game instantly became a top 10 attack and we ended up ripping through the rest of our schedule, going 7-2 through the final 9 games to win the division, win a playoff game, and lose a close one in the divisional round against the eventual NFC champs. Since then, Dak has been widely regarded as one of the best QBs in football and is locked up to be our QB for a long time. All it took was for us to finally get a semblance of a defense on the field and the winning began. Quite simply, if you don't trade for Amari in 2018 I honestly am not sure if Dak Prescott would still be the QB for the Dallas Cowboys (I guess some people would like that, but it is beside the point) and the team would not be in the position we are in today. CeeDee may one day very soon usurp the #1 receiver role, but it will not be for lack of stud play from Coop.

Whatever issues Amari was having on the road have ended this season. Two of his best games have been on the road. It’s perplexing why so many fans on this board are always criticizing him and want to move on from him. It seems like the best players the Cowboys have the fans would rather go with lower priced players. Amari’s body language isn’t the best after making a catch. He always looks in discomfort. Regardless the injuries he keeps on playing. He was on the sidelines rubbing out his hamstring before he caught the game winner. When we needed him he was there. Our receiving corp wouldn’t be the same without him. The guy has been money in the clutch this season. I hope he’s with the Cowboys a long time because he’s a great player.

Amari Cooper reminds me of Drew Pearson when it comes to running precision routes.

I had the opportunity to discuss the Cowboy receiver a few years back when I met a Robert Steele online.

Don't recognize the name? Not surprising. He was drew Pearson's backup in 1978 after they had traded Golden Richards. That means he barely did anything that season.

He told me that Drew demanded every practice snap. He would run the route over and over and over. He told me that Drew would measure exactly where he was relative to a mark on the field or the sidelines. He would bring a measuring tape with him.

Robert Steele told me that Drew made cuts like a surgeon. Drew was an ex-quarterback and Roger Staubach always knew precisely to the inch where Drew would be. He told me that's what made Drew Pearson so productive.

Amari has that same demand for detail and relentless pursuit of perfection. Sure, he and Drew and different in many other respects. Amari was an elite WR coming out of college and a 1st round pick while Drew was an undrafted free agent. However, I believe its that attention to detail that make them both great. Hopefully, CeeDee picks up the same attribute

His ability to keep both feet in bounds on the sidelines and back of the endzone is also Drew Pearson like.

Unbelievable how many on here think we should cut or trade him to save money after this season… When you have a player of his talent you keep him and pay him.

He's more talented than Dez, have been saying it forever.
I agree and it’s not even close. Beyond availability the best ability may be reliability. Amari is very reliable and seems to show up in big moments.

No question but what Amari Cooper is the type who's easy to admire and respect.
He, most assuredly, has all the decent qualities to invite such compassion!

In fact, I honestly believe that this team is generously loaded with such fine folks!

In all honesty, I'm fairly convinced it's why their such a tight group of good friends.

He's been a warrior this year. Playing with rib injury, hamstring and whatever else. He's bringing it in the road and at home. Consummate team mate. I hope he retires a Cowboy
