After his first two seasons, Amari Cooper looked like one of the league’s most promising young wide receivers. But inconsistency followed, and the former No. 5 overall pick was never able to recapture his status as a reliable target in Oakland.

Although the up-and-down pattern Cooper set in Oakland persisted during his initial run as a Cowboy, he averaged 80.6 yards per game in his Dallas games after posting posting 46.7 per contest in six 2018 Raider games. Cooper, during an appearance on PFT Live, called last season’s scenery change “necessary” for him to reach the heights he did in Dallas.

I don’t think it was a good fit for me,” Cooper said of his time in Oakland, adding that he reached this conclusion early last season. “I don’t think I was really able to showcase my skills there for whatever reasons. I’ll call it extenuating circumstances. But for whatever reason, I wasn’t able to reach my heights and I kind of knew that I needed to be gone in order to do some of the things that I wanted to do as an NFL player.”

What’s not a good fit is your signature pic. Dude...a shirtless selfie on a cowboys message board?
This is the cowboys zone...not your grinder app.

I liked the trade and like him; however, he disappeared in OAK at times and had too many drops. The only reason he shouldn't get open is if he's doubled because he's one of the better pure route runners in the last few years.

They're going to make him one of the highest paid WR's, he needs to earn that by being consistent and stretching the defenses even if he's doubled.

It’s crazy to hear someone say they weren’t a good fit somewhere else but they are a good fit in Dallas? With this Prescott guy? The one who can’t throw?
Havents you heard? 2k yards is in Amari's future.

Next, we are gonna hear that Dak wants 6k yards this year.

Does anyone know whether this quote from Amari was a joke. A bit of hyperbole about the strength of this team going forward that the media blew out of proportion? He can’t be serious about the 2K yards, right? This would be a difficult task if Brady was your quarterback. It would mean we would be a completely different team offensively (No balance/ way less Zeke). Calvin Johnson didn’t make it. Julio Jones didn’t make it and Jerry Rice yes THAT Jerry Freakin’ Rice didn’t make it. Wasn’t there someone special slinging the rock to him?

I hope he tries.. He will need huge chunk plays every game. I do see Dak tossing it deep to him a few times a game. They would have to connect early and often. I don't see it happening but give it a try.

It actually depends more on the offense than it does the QB. We haven’t seen this new offense in action yet.
