Seen this highlight and wanted to know what the official rule is for this. I thought that if the ball hits the ground the way it does with Cooper after the contact to help keep him up that he should have been considered down. Any and all help would be appreciated???

Nope. No such rule. Down by contact rules here: http://static.nfl.com/static/conten.../pdfs/10_Rule7_BallInPlay_DeadBall_Scrimm.pdf

Using the ball to stay upright does not kill the play.

However, he should have been ruled down during the time when the defensive player was spinning him around because the receiver's ankle turned sideways and touched the ground.

I remember a play several years ago where that happened to a Cowboys player. If any part of your leg, starting from the ankle up, touches the ground while another player is touching you or touched you right before, you are down.

This was the best still shot I could grab out of the NFL video because of their horrible frame rate ..
