Two of the biggest, important match ups vs Rams on Sunday will be involving:
- WR Amari Cooper vs CB Jalen Ramsey.
- and OG Xavier Sua Filo vs DE Aaron Donald.

Unlike NE Pats game (where CB Stephen Gilmore just totally shut out Cooper) weather should not
at all be a bad factor in this Rams game

And Rams have one of the very best man coverage CBs in Jalen Ramsey.

And one of the three biggest knocks on Cooper even before he was traded here to Dallas, was
he tends to struggle vs elite man coverage CBs.

Amari is hurt. Plus Jalen likes to talk trash and mess with players. Amari isn't one you can easily mess with, but we saw what happened last time we played the Rams with Talib and Peters covering Amari. Hopefully Amari doesn't react. Last time he fought with Talib and Peters, Crawford came to his rescue and (I think) Dak did? Team is different this season, so I kinda doubt anyone would come to his rescue if a fight or scrabble were to breakout. Maybe our other WR's can step up.

I'd give Jalen a small advantage here as Amari has struggled against other corners this season.

Sua Filo vs. Aaron Donald is laughable. I'm not even going to discuss that.

Ramsey, there.

Hopefully this game does what it should do, remind the rest of the fans that Dallas is not in it to win it.

Lets scrap the Garrett experiment to the side of the road and be done with it.

Its time for Cooper to step up. I don't think Ramsey is as good as Gilmore, but I don't think Cooper is 100% either. He is not making those double moves like he did earlier in the season and his YAC is down too. He could have had a couple of catches against the Patriots but the throws were not on target. I am more concerned about hos much time Dak is going to have to throw.

Su'a Filo is not going to be alone on Donald. Like every other team the Cowboys will double team him. Did Su'a Filo face him last year too? In any case, one on one Donald destroys Su'a Filo and his cement feet.

The bigger problem is the defense. The Rams creative play designs and play-calling are going to fool this very slow and stupid Cowboys defense. I am expecting a blowout early with Dak being forced to throw every down. I hope they don;t abandon the run, but we all know if the score is 10-0 in the first, we will see 80% passes.

if we could ever run the ball thoroughly through out the entire game and go right at Donald, trap him and try to get him on his toes and heel and make him labor and work more in trying to defend the run, vs repeated pass after pass where he can and will ) get a free run at the QB and in the backfield, we probably could have a better chance of minimizing him more.

But if Kellen puts up a passing frenzy where Dak is constantly staying in these shotgun pass-pass-pass sets, Dak is going to be hit, sacked and running for his life from that side of the ball.

Connor Williams faced Donald in playoffs last year and actually faired relatively well against him, considering he was a 1st year rookie converted OG.

See, I see this totally different.
I look at it like this....Can #4 put the ball where only Cooper can make a play on it? Can the OC create a situation where the Rams defense is guessing? Unfortunately, I believe the answer to both questions is "No".

Here you go again. You doubt anyone would come to his defense? This team has come to the defense multiple times when players are engaged in confrontation. You seem to the be the only one who cant or wont see it.

I mean there haven't been that many occasions in the first place. At least not with this current team. The only instance I can think about this season is when Malcolm Jenkins roughed up Dak and Cobb (a player from another locker room) jacked Jenkins up. I think La'el Collins was there too but my memory is fuzzy. That is it. Last year, Crawford came to Amari's aid, but Crawford is on Injured Reserve. Who else would step up to help Amari or Dak besides Cobb and La'el Collins?

The distribution of intermediate-to-deep throws has changed drastically during the losing streak.

15+yd targets
Games 1-10

Cooper 25
Cobb 16
Gallup 12

Games 11-13
Gallup 5
Cobb 4
Cooper 3

Meh. Amari has had some good corners on him these past few games. Gilmore. Fuller. Tre'Davious White. He likely won't get as many targets with those corners on him, along with nagging injuries (He has to still be injured. He doesn't run as fast after the catch like he did last year or earlier this season).

Cooper hurt couples with Dak back to being hesitant with the ball is why cooper may disappear again. Cooper is still almost always open when he makes his break, and if Dak can throw with a little anticipation knowing where cooper will be, then there is no stopping this offense. Can't play good teams scarred. Lose the fear and go ball out.

If Cooper is healthy then we will see something. If not it will be hard stuff again. He hasn’t been right for 3 games.
