Did some background info on the drops that had plagued Cooper while in Oakland.

According to sportscharta.com
In 2016 of players with at least 30 catches, 22 players had drop rates of 6.2% or higher. Of those 22, 4 of them were Raiders.
Jalen Richard- 10.3% with 3 drops
Clive Walford- 7.7% with 4 drops
Seth Roberts- 6.5% with 5 drops
Michael Crabtree- 6.2% with 9 drops(most in the league)

Amari was at 2.3% with 3 drops

In 2015 here's another breakdown

Amari- 7.7% with 10 drops(most in the league)
Seth Roberts- 7.3% with 4 drops
Andre Holmes- 9.1% with 3 drops
Crabtree- 5.5% with 8 drops

Sportingcharts doesnt have 2017 dropped stats up, but according to PFF the Raiders in 2017 were YET AGAIN amongst the worst in the league, tied for 2nd with 38 dropped passes.

Drops are overblown, because of ocourse around here everything is overblown, but players can still excel despite dropping passes at a constant rate. Look at players like TO, Dem Thomas, and Odell. This is meant to be a resource for those that like to see the whole picture before making blanket statements and saying a player that has made 2 pro bowls in 3 years as "trash".

I am so pissed about this move. I hope Jerry Jones never wins a game in his life for this stupidity.

If I'm wrong about this move please enlighten cuz I think this is one of the worst trades in Jerry Jones' reign of over reaching.

Please cheer me up.

Cooper is far from trash. I think most peoples issue is the price. Personally I think he is a good amd potentially very good WR, but I dont know if I see him as a true #1 WR

Well, first of all rooting for the Cowboys to lose every game for the rest of Jerry's life makes you a big Cowboy hater. Second, Dak has no idea how to read a defense so Cooper should be a beefed up version of Allen Hurns. Did I make you feel better?

Trading a 1st was the wrong move. I agree. My goal is just trying to contextualize his drops and inform others, because there are many here who are very uninformed.

A lot of Cowboys fans were upset when Jerry fired Landry, but we got 3 Superbowls afterwards. Big reach I know but hey I tried to cheer you up.

well, JJ once traded two #1's for Joey Galloway. I can't remember the specifics but I think a 1,3, and 6 for Roy Williams. My all time favorite was probably a 4th and a 7th for OJ Santiago. Its hard to keep track of the bad Jones personnel moves.

But at least Amari Cooper is still very young, and he did put together 2 pretty nice seasons out of the gate. I'm not thrilled with this move, but all-time worst? I can't go there.

Amari Cooper WR Alabama

TALENT BOARD ROUND 1

STRENGTHS
Amari has the size-speed ratio that will allow him to become a franchise wide receiver for the team that drafts him. Along with that size and speed, he shows the ability to catch the ball in traffic, adjust to the ball in the air and go vertical in a crowd to snatch the ball before the defender can turn around to defend against it. He is an excellent route runner and wants the ball to make impact plays and score touchdowns. Amari has big strong hands to fight for the ball, but also possesses the soft hands that franchise receivers need to cradle the ball on those deep passing plays. He also shows the strength and lateral agility to “out quick” most defensive backs and, if he is not quicker than his opponent, he will use his strength and size to make the catch on those difficult third downs when everyone in the stadium knows the ball has to be thrown to him. Amari is the type of wide receiver you can build your passing game around. I call him Amari (Super) Cooper because at times it looks like Amari has super powers when he makes impact plays.

CONCERNS
You always wonder about injuries when it comes to a physical player like Amari. In the draft world, Alabama has a history of extensive medical files that can become a concern for the team that selects any player from this program. Of course the combine should answer any medical questions or issues. For a player with Amari’s talent, I suspect we just might hear some misinformation about his medical status by teams wishing he might drop in the draft to their selection. As of this writing, I see nothing on film that suggest Amari has any medical issues that should affect his status but you never know!

BOTTOM LINE
If you’re looking in the dictionary for the definition of a franchise wide receiver I believe Amari’s picture will be there as an example. However, he has to stop dropping passes and letting those drops filter into his overall play for the rest of a game. If he can’t turn the page emotionally about his drops in a game, he just becomes a very good receiver and not the type of receiver a QB can throw to on any down with confidence. He has all the physical attributes along with proven production to be a franchise receiver for the team that selects him. He is the type of receiver that can make an average QB look better than he really is and not many receivers can do that. His run after the catch skills are excellent and his physical attributes are an excellent fit as a red zone receiver and touchdown maker. Amari will move the chains on third downs and has the ability to stretch the defense not necessarily because of his speed but because of his natural ability to catch the ball and change direction with such ease. He has a long gait, which makes it easy for him to keep his eyes from bouncing around on the deep ball. This allows him to make the tough catch down the field with a defender climbing all over him. He reminds me a lot of Brandon Marshall of the Chicago Bears although Amari runs much better routes than Brandon did when he came out in the draft. If your team is looking to upgrade to a franchise wide receiver, I suggest you get on to the social media and insist they select Amari (Super) Cooper. He will make a young developing quarterback a star very quickly.

I'm beginning to become a strong Jerry hater. So basically we gave up a first rounder for what we have. That's exactly what good GM's do.

I've seen you on different Cowboy forums for the past decade so I know you aren't a Cowboy hater, so don't stoop to their level. Jerry is making it tough though. This is a hard pill to swallow. I hope Dak proves me wrong, but this trade is useless with who we have at QB.

No, I think the two 1st rounders for Galloway is still much worse.

That's why I'm so mad about this. what didn't Jerry learn through Gallowaste and Roy Williams. We are not one receiver away from being a Super Bowl contender. We're about 5-7 players away from being a decent team and one head coach away from being able to call a timeout. But what does dummy do? he goes and spends a 1st on a receiver. Insanity is doing the same things and expecting different results. Jerry is truly insane and dementia has kicked in. And who's going to coach Cooper? The same geniuses that have been coaching the offense that doesn't produce.

I'll say it again, Jerry Jones does not deserve to win another game as an NFL GM the rest of his career. He's horrible. He's a joke

Thanks, I'm just mad right now. You're right. Jerry is making it really tough right now and this is a very hard pill to swallow. I appreciate your comment tho. Thanks again
