When I think about how Stephen McGee never looked like he belonged.....even after 3 years....what does that say about what we are doing in Dallas?

A pro bowler like Romo NEVER looked this good/comfortable against the Browns...and Cousins....in his first NFL game....looks calm, fluid, productive against the Browns.

Nick Fowles....not lighting the world on fire...but again, he looks like he belongs. Of course, Luck, RG3, Russel Wilson etc....but first year QBs all over the NFL look like they have a future

Is it the offense we are running? Is it the people we have teaching? Is it too complicated?

Thoughts?

Maybe some of these clubs have a offensive line?
Both the Commanders and the Eagles would trade OLs with us. It comes down to playing to your strengths. Again, the offense the Skins run keeps defenses off balance...and allows inferior talent (like their OL, WRs, and RBs) to play above their talent.

Sound nice to say but no they wouldn't. The Commanders line is better and the Eagles at least have the excuse of losing a couple of quality OL to injury.

I don't know of a worse OL situation in the league than right here in Dallas.

I think you're overblowing it. The line isn't nearly as bad as you make it seem. As a matter of fact, compared to the rest of the league the Cowboys are more average than they are terrible. Most teams in this league have a offensive line the caliber of the Cowboys. What separates us from most teams though is those penalties. Not the holding penalties but the false starts. Just can't happen.

Right on the money IMO. The Skins have a better line for sure, and the Eagles line has suffered some really bad injuries this season. I honestly believe Dallas has the worst O-line in football. Which just goes to show how amazing Tony Romo really is.

Yeah, you have fun with that imagination of yours. I deal in reality. This OL is the worst I've ever seen here. They're an absolute embarrassment to the uniform. They can't run block. They can't pass block. And 4 of the 5 players have no upside whatsoever. They're just bad players.

Somebody has to have the worst line. It's not hyperbole for everyone. I agree. I think I'd rather have any of the other OLs in the league over this one. That's how bad it's gotten.

Its hard to nail down any particular reason for these 1st yr QB's having success.

Maybe its just a really quality batch of guys that came out.

I tend to think its more an indication of how bad the quality of football is now in the NFL with parity. You just dont see rookie QB's play like this. The quality of play has gone down. Defenses are at much more of an advantage than they used to be. You hear that all the time from former players who now announce games. Moose and Goose were talking about it today on the Vagiants game.

The real question is: will they sustain it next year? Cam Newton hasnt.

Risen Star I saw the Rams center forgetting to snap ball while everyone went in motion.:laugh2:

Yes it is bad no matter how optimistic Jerruh is.

Nate Newton has said several times the interior of our OL is the real problem. If they were doing their job the Tackles would look better and be more effective.

Fix the OL and this team could have a very productive offense.

Does not matter...Stephen McGee looked like a high school player in Dallas. So if parity is supposed to be the equalizer....how come Dallas has not benefitted. The Commanders are rolling the Browns...with a 4th round pick rookie QB...making his FIRST start....on the road. 4 of the 5 guys starting on our OL are the guys we envisioned when the year started. Our talent on offense is not great...BUT. It is the scheme and play calling. I am convinced!

The Commanders have ONE....ONE...OL that could start in Dallas. Their RB would not have even made the team if the RBs the Commanders had last were healthy. None of their WRs could start in Dallas.

Cousins looks poised, but I'd still rather have a veteran guy in there. Props to him for a well played game though.

Another theory been batted around is more and more colleges running pro style offense. They have become far more sophisticated and devoting a whole lot more classroom work to these college QB's than ever before.
