Amazing Cowboys are only 1 1/2 point underdogs at Green Bay

This has me confused. I use three different sports books and when I checked the lines within minutes of opening, they were all GB -1.5. Some guy tweets Dallas -1.5 and people ran with it.

I can’t confirm that Dallas was ever the favorite. It really doesn’t matter now but I have never seen a line move 3-points in the first minute.
I googled it with AI which confirmed Dallas did open as fav and moved quickly. Who knows .

So I have a question on this.
Is this the Vegas odds only? Anything else to influence this?

Because with all the legal sports betting websites now. Have given access to millions of fans that could not, or would not know how to make bets before.
How many of them know what they are doing. Making bets to make bets. Or actually look and things as the more savvy gamblers do. So the amateurs make bets based on their feelings more so than anything else.

Does this influence the overall odds to move the needle in one direction or the other?

Most casual fans don’t see the possibilities of the team getting better. They’re mentally weak so it’s easy for those types to just constantly lash out. It’s easier to be a hater than a fan.
So what is it called when the team doesnt get better, and you leave mid season because you realize all of the nonsense you spew isnt going to happen?

For some reason they think Dallas will bounce back because they usually do even when they are bad but not this bad....
And that's the only reason I think they have a chance. It's what the Cowboys usually do. They suck the fans back in only to fall short the following week. By all rights this should be a GB blowout.

Good question. I was more of an authority in the old world before current access by everyone but even back then lines were often moved by fans using their hearts not their minds to wager.

It’s basically a big part of why the NFL is most profitable segment Casinos and Bookies made money . Not only by the volume wagered but everyday fans.

The goal was to have even money wagered on both sides and profit on the 10% juice. If there was an imbalance they’d lay it off with other Casinos and or Bookies and how lines could differ depending the source.

Couple that with NFL most unpredictable major sport to wager in comparison to College Football and Basketball , NBA and MLB.

So the answer to your question is probably yes it does impact the line after it’s been set. What probably hasn’t changed as much is how the lines are set unless a team generally gets more wagered on it so the line is adjusted out of the gate accordingly. Which might explain the Cowboys.

This is correct. Big money flipped it quickly 3 points as GB is now the favorites .

Early money usually dictates if handicappers and casino houses get it wrong.

When I made thread I didn’t realize the Cowboys were originally favored. Regardless I was still surprised the line was this low for Dallas in the game .
Cowboys should never have been favored. Like you said, it should have opened up GB -3 right from the start. But they're worried.

Not sure since I’ve never done that. I’ve always been here. Sometimes just lurking and sometimes outing haters like yourself and holding you accountable. No surprise you’re going all Karen over it.
