Is anybody gonna buy Amazon for TNF? Seems the NFL is making it difficult to watch games not make it easier.

I have prime so I guess I'm good.

Hasn't the TNF games always been tough to get? NFLN was a channel you had to pay more for too/wasn't offered on some cut the cord options and it hosted games.

Don't really recall as the only time I've watched TNF has been for Thanksgiving and the next thursday week game the Cowboys play

I have Prime too. It's usually the chicks doing that one, right? I can remember switching to them more often than not.

Oh, c'mon man, millions of people have Amazon Prime. Seems to me the NFL is trying to make watching games way more accessible. Just give in and get it.

we have prime... because my wife likes to order stuff we don't need...

would I pay for prime just to get TNF? No.

I would, however, pay for Prime just to watch the upcoming Lord of the Rings TV series... Thats worth the money...

Commentators suck and the picture is not great quality. My Direct TV is much better...........

Something about needing something and going on Amazon, and the next day it's on your doorstep.

Just don't shop under the influence.

If it's the only way to watch a Cowboys game, I'll sub for a week then cancel. I often get offers when I'm placing an order for a week for under $2.

I'll have to clear my schedule that week to binge watch season 5 Animal Kingdom and season 4 of Sneaky Pete.

Grand Tour is pretty epic if you’re unfamiliar

I already have Prime but if I didn't I would purchase it. We buy a lot from Amazon and easily cover the prime cost in shipping savings in the 1st month.

I wasn't aware. Thanks, I'll add it to my list.

Short summary:

BBC, British TV, had a show about 3 middle aged men who would race each other in old junk cars and then demolish them, and it’s one of the most internationally successful shows of all time, Top Gear. They’d strap a rocket to a car and try and shoot it into space, they put remote controls on actual Mercedes Benz’s and raced them as RC cars, they even tried to make a car be a boat by putting a body on it so they could drive right into the English Channel… and they sank. It’s basically 3 comedians who do it so the show is hilarious, I don’t even like cars that much but it’s amazing.

Anyway, that show got canceled because the lead guy, the most famous one by far, got into a physical spat with a producer and he was sacked. England was pissed because that basically meant the show was done, and it was their crown jewel of British entertainment. So Amazon swept in and paid all 3 massive amounts of money to make a new show similar to top gear on their platform, and gave them a huge budget to do incredible stunts. They broke the land speed record in a production vehicle, they rented out actual tanks and fired at cars, they destroyed huge manors in England with construction vehicles.

But the “specials” are what are most amazing. They’re huge car-gloating trips in very exotic places. In one they were dropped in the middle of the Mongolian outback and para-mailed a deconstructed car via plane…

Then they had to put it together themselves and drive through the rugged terrain across country with no roads and away from all civilization… 3 comedians who sometimes can’t stand being in the same room with each other. It’s phenomenal.

Here’s a taste of what the old show was:

and then the intro to the new, American show, following Jeremy getting sacked:

Yeah, I perpetually have prime just for shipping so it doesn't make a difference to me. And yes, the TNF game has always been tough to get. I feel like sometimes I can't even find it on prime and maybe it's on a traditional channel instead. Really weird.

Have prime for shipping and all the other perks.
They don't have all that much content but what they do have is pretty much aces.

Jack Ryan
Man in the High Castle
The Boys
Fleabag
Mad dogs
Bosch

Benefit of these service having games is you can watch on pretty much any apple/android device so no longer have to be tethered to a TV.
iPAD with wifi can get the job done.
Cell phone with 5G works in a pinch.

Laptop on vacation somewhere saves having to go find a sports bar at some odd time of day or night.

I keep trying to get people to watch this and some are like "I'm just sick of the Marvel Universe-type stuff". Then I usually have to break the news to them that this is nothing like that, and that it's basically the complete opposite....at which point they're like, "well, doesn't sound very good".

The ol' lead a horse to water routine.

Yup, anti-hero dramedy.
Def not MCU stuff.
