Amendola's On Out Looking In

After tonight, I think he doesn't make it...

He fumbled, dropped a pass, and did nothing else. He looked out-classed, too small and too slow.

And, our BIGGEST problem was special teams. Guess what? He doesn't play them (not once Pac returns in the regular season). Davis just took the 53rd roster spot from Amendola

He could have caught that ball...
And even if he didn't, he should be cut. We need special teams players, not some guy guaranteed to never suit up all year

I think they are looking for amendola to make them not have a reason to cut him. He has no chance of being a punt returner on this team but they are looking to see what else he can do so they gave him a chance.

I think we have to give it another couple of weeks.

But that said, the staff definitely likes Davis, so we'll see.

Welcome to the practice squad danny.

You're right, he could have, but it would have been a pretty remarkable catch. It certainly shouldn't qualify as a drop.

I guess it serves the purpose that you want though.

I agree, that wasnt on amendola. Someone was in the wrong spot either amendola or coleman but coleman blocked the ball out of amendolas view.

You guys hyped him up, now shut it up....

No, we didn't. We've defended him. Care to go back and look at how many Amendola threads I've started? How many have been started by his detractors? How many people are simply foaming at the mouth to see this kid fail?

I don't know why you think I have a purpose

Going into this game I thought Amendola was a shoe-in, with all the positive reports.

But after it, I changed my mind. It's called keeping an open mind. The opposite of having an agenda

He was on the outsisde looking in BEFORE this game tonight.

Nothing has changed.

Fair enough. if you aren't among the ones that are jumping for joy every time the kid makes a mistake. Just seems timely is all.

This is a joke, right? He has been hyped, and he didn't live up. He's gonna have to show something special to be carried on the 53 when HE CAN"T PLAY SPECIAL TEAMS!

When will you answer my fundamental point? (hint, it's in caps)

I do not have a single post dissing Amendola. I was hoping for a new Welker. But so far, I haven't seen it is all I'm saying

Nobody will be harder on Danny than himself.

Let's give the kid a little bit better chance to show us what he's got.

One game doesn't tell everything, especially if you look at what he has done in practice.

No, most of the hype on this kid has been generated by his detractors...at least on this forum. His fans have simply said he's got a shot to be on the roster.

He can play special teams. He's a returner. I know he's going to be behind Jones if he's reinstated, but I'd guess that tonight's fumble doesn't happen again.

I'm not even saying he's a lock to be on the roster.

Totally agree, let's see more before deciding.

But so far, he's got work to do

I hear you. No one has, but that's no reason to just dismiss him so quickly. We'll see more after three more games.
