American Idol begins anew...

I can't sing a lick. I am not ashamed to admit this. If the jukebox was on my back, I couldn't carry a tune. I still appreciate those who can sing. That's one reason why I do like the show.

The main reason why I like it begins tonight though. It kills me how many people actually think they are great singers. The show is intriguing, but nothing tops the first few days of tryouts where you get to see the really horrible performers.

As bad as I know I am, I can out sing a bunch of those idiots. That's how bad they are. I love when they film them as they are leaving promising how Simon is going to regret this tragic mistake. 5 years and counting for these "stars" to shut him up.

Now, I know some of you will bash the show and feel free. You gotta admit though, the people who suck and don't know it are funny as hell.

It starts off with the Memphis auditions first I believe. They were supposed to come to Memphis last year but Katrina forced them to move on.

Yes I like the auditions section of the shows just for the reason Hos mentioned.

I know there are plenty that just do it knowing they can't sing so they can get on TV or have fun, but there are some there that honestly believe they sing good.

Yep, I only watch the first few episodes. It always amazes me how dillusional some of these people are. Like you, I cant sing a lick, but at least we know we cant sing. Its torture enough for me to listen to myself no way I would put anyone else through that kind of pain. My favorite line from American Idol has to be "I will show them, they are going to regret passing on me". Seems like a common theme amongst the rejected.

The producers let the bad ones through to make the good ones look even better IMO plus they get people coming back for more. How many people could name anyone other than Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson that has won? But on the flip side I bet you people can tell you who William Hung is. :laugh2:

The mock denial of the judge's decisions weren't as good this year so far. I like it when someone is in such denial that they issue a guarantee they are going to shut Simon up.

I swear the guy never loses.

One of my favorites was when he sent a girl to the Mall to sing for a crowd and one by one they all walked away in the middle of her song. It was beautiful.

Another time he sent a guy down to the beach to find one person who liked his singing and he did, but the guy admitted he was tone deaf.

I love it when they beg for one more chance and explain how with coaching they could be better.

These moments are when the show is great. Like I said, I enjoy good singers, but the delusional folks are far more entertaining.

I literally can't watch that show cause I get all caught up in feeling embarrassed for the people on there. I get all uncomfortable and have to change the channel.

The whole Seattle audition was one big freak show.

The only ones that I remember that were good were the Indian guy and the dude with the fro. I didn't hear the Indian girl sign but she was very pleasing to the eye.
