Nice, although you should consider adding a dark stroke outline to the text to help it stand out. I'd also add some anti-aliasing so the text's edges don't look so rough.

Hey...nice job...you're learning in a hurry, that's for sure..

The only way to do a wall paper is to start out with a image at 1024 x 768...if you take this one and increase the size, it's gonna get pixelated and kinda ratty looking...
