Oh that freakin' pisses me off too! It REALLY pisses me off when they pull out in front of you in a hurry, then go slow, but it ends up they could of waited like 3 f'in seconds and just waited for you to pass cuz there's NO ONE behind you, yet they pull out in front of you and force you to put on the breaks.

I swear, there are many people in this town that are lucky I don't have a license to carry my gun.

It was a state trooper but by that time I did not care so I returned the favor for a few miles until my exit came up

I had some similar happen.

I was on my way home from Little Rock late one night and some idiot behind me was flashing is headlights at me. I hate it when someone does that. So I wasn't going to let him through until he turned on his other lights....you know the ones on top of the car :D....so needless to say I moved over really quickly :D

Anyone that has ever driven on the autobahn knows how annoying it is for someone to flash their headlights at you when you aren't in the fast lanes.

They all burn me up but this is by far the worse...I can usually keep my mouth shout with the others but this one will start me talking... they pull out of where ever at 100 mph and than go 2 miles per hour...AHHHH i get burned up just thinking about it

I have turned into a Gap Snatcher :laugh2:

Nothing burns me up more than when there is 8 miles of empty lane behind me and someone zips up and squeezes thier 14 foot car into the 15 feet of space I have left in front of me so as not to tailgate (Usually as I am slowing down to get my exit). It happens just about everday on my way home now. When I suspect a car of attempting it, sneakily speed up a couple of miles an hour and close the space. Obviously my brake pedals work, thiers should too.

Some days I feel like Jim Carrey in the Truman Show. Every car is on the road to block me :bang2:

That's when I slam on the breaks (yes, I've done it a few times). That method has worked 100% of the time to get people to stop tailgating me.

uhh why can't you just get the **** out of their way and let them go by? why do people have a problem with the idea that the left lane is for PASSING ONLY?

8. Motorcyclists who race down the middle of a lane, between cars (Speed Racers)

In 1991 I was in LA California sitting in bumper to bumper traffic for close to 3 hours I mean not moving at all. well Motorcycles kept flying between cars moving as if nothing was happening. well I was from the east and got really pissed so as a Motorcycle was coming up from behind I threw my door open. Guy almost went over his handel bars trying to stop. The back of the bike got off the ground. I jumped out of the car and told him he could wait like the rest of us well he looked at my License plate (Virginia) and laughed and calmly said your not from around here. In Ca it's legal for motorcycles to move between traffic in jams as long as they don't do it in a reckless manner. What could I do. He was cool about it so I just sat back in my car and watched him drive away.

Just shows how #8 can cause #7

Are you freakin' STUPID? Do you even KNOW how to read?

Read it again, slowly this time. It has NOTHING to do with letting someone pass. The people I've mentioned had NO intentions of passing me. You'd know this is you payed attention.

Here's two more:

  • You're driving correctly and someone else screws up (fails to yield, merges lanes without signalling, etc.) but then they honk at you as if it was your fault. Case in point, a few weeks ago someone following a little too closely behind me honked as he passed because I put on my blinker, slowed down, and made a right turn.

  • When people don't pay attention to their speedometer (long distance travel). I'll pass someone but then ten minutes later they speed up and overtake me only to IMMEDIATELY SLOW DOWN. Repeat.

What irratates me the most is when sitting in traffic and the lane next to you is moving so you get over only to have that lane stop and the one you just got out of start moving. It's as if everyone is plotting against you or should I say me.

Don't know if this one has been mentioned, but I cannot stand driving on a two lane highway and two cars are both driving next to each other at an obnoxiously slow speed... there's absolutely nothing that can be done on your part that doesn't make you look like the jerk

That's #1 on my list right there. I can't stand when you're driving on the highway going your own speed, and someone comes from way back behind you, catches up to you, then just tailgates you. You speed up to 90+ for about 20-30 seconds, get some separation, then go back down to your normal speed, but they speed up, catch you again, then tailgate you again.

That's when I slam on the breaks (yes, I've done it a few times). That method has worked 100% of the time to get people to stop tailgating me.
Are you in the "passing" lane or the "traveling" lane?

Totally agree with this statement.

Why can't people pay attention to their surroundings?

If someone comes up on me, I move over, let them in front, let them get about 1/4-1/2 mile ahead of me, and then match their speed. Who needs a radar detector? And that has worked about 3-4 times.

I move over as long as they don't tailgate or flash their headlights at me.

Traveling lane mainly, but it has happened in both.

And it's not cuz the guy just wants me to move over so he could pass. I've had guys tail me, I'll speed up to about 90 for about 30 seconds, then back to my normal speed, the guy will catch up to me, then slow down and stay behind me when he catches me. I'll even pass someone and get just in front of the person I just passed so that the guy trailing won't have room to get behind me, but the ******* will wait till there is room and slide in.

Sounds like he thinks you may have a radar detector. :D

Another one that ticks me off...

Being behind someone in the passing lane, when we are passing another vehicle they are just barely going faster than the passee, but as soon as the right lane is clear and you would think that they could get over out of the way, they speed up to 10mph above the speed limit. But as soon as we catch up to another vehicle, same thing...slows down to just barely passing the other car.

Also, ever notice someone that is behind another car and going the same speed, but once they encounter a traffic light, the second car HAS to get in the left lane for some reason. Like a power rush to be first in line.

I read somewhere once that people who do things like this have no other "power" in their life. As in they are not a boss at work, have a more dominant spouse, and this is their only time in their day that they feel "power"

Sad thing is I don't even speed on the highway. I'll go about 4mph over the speed limit. That's it.

My newest peeve is those that have those 'spinner' hubcaps or wheels, where the 'fan blade' behind the stationary wheel continues to turn even though they've come to a stop.

More than one time have I caught those out of the corner of my eye when someone is stopping at a side street, and thinking the wheels were still turning, I jump on my brakes, enough to get my heart pounding hard.

Something else that really bothers me are commercials on the radio using a fire or police siren in their ads. Momentarily scares the crap out of me.
