Depends on where he's at health wise, I thought he wasn't back until next week but I say if he's ready start working him in.

Who goes? Bishop? Or Coleman now that Crawford has emerged as a legitimate 3 tech option behind Melton?

Amobi Okoye decision coming as soon as Monday

IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Amobi Okoye no longer wonders if he will play football. To him, it's a question of when.

It's a question for the Cowboys, too.

i

OkoyeOkoye is eligible to come off the non-football injury list as he comes back from a brain disorder that left him in a coma for parts of 2012 and out of football. He was cleared in August for full football activities, but the Cowboys chose to put him on reserve/NFI, which keeps him out of the first six games of the season.

The Cowboys do not have to activate Okoye off NFI until Nov. 3 at which time opens up another three-week window in which he can practice but not play. After that window closes, Okoye will have to be added to the 53-man roster, remain on NFI for the rest of the season or cut.

I'm guessing he won't be activated right away. Probably let him practice for a couple of weeks, then activate him.

Coleman
Bishop
Vaughan
J. Crawford

These guys are the ones I can think of that won't break up the chemistry. One out if this group

I too think he practices for a few weeks, then they will decise. If devon Coleman not playing again, if he's still bothered with an injury, maybe he goes on IR, Okoye then is activated.
If not, I can see Okoye going on IR, then wait until next year.
I believe they can put him on IR, since it was an illness he's recovering from.

Lavar Edwards or Jack Crawford for now. Probably both will be gone when Lawrence comes back. Then who for Brent?

I can't imagine this guy out of football for 2 years is better than the guys that are active. People may point to Hayden but he plays a role that I'm not sure Okoye can effectively play at this point. Plus you've got Coleman and Bishop inactive on the bench. Tough call to make....

Wow depending on how he's doing he can maybe even see the field next week! This is exciting! Lawrence & Okoye!

I don't see him being all that effective. Right now I want to see us be a little more stout against the run and up the edge pressure. Spencer was playing a little better yesterday, it looked good. Crawford would have had about 2 sacks against almost any other QB.

Better not cut a rookie with promise for a guy coming back from a serious neurological disorder. Bishop and Coleman ought to be pretty near untouchable right now. Crawford is keeping Lawrence's seat warm. Vaughan's not going anywhere. If it's not one of the backup OTs, and we don't suffer any injuries (knock on @Wood), I think Okoye's the odd man out when the music stops.

It'll be an interesting call. Both Okoye and Brent are young enough that you could see them on the roster for the next 3 years, provided they can play up to the level they were playing at before. That really makes Bishop and Coleman expendable.

Or would you release a guy like T McClain? Especially since he's been hurt all year and ineffective. Does Hayden fit in the plans for the next 3 years? I'd hope not, but do we gamble with chemistry?

That's a valid point. Getting past the hoopla of the win, Hayden wasn't good and hasn't been since the first couple games of the season. Even at twenty-some snaps he's more of a liability at DT than he is a benefit.

You put a guy at the #1 spot who contributing more positive plays per game than Hayden and you'll see the entire defensive line get better.
