We had a kickoff go right between TT and Miles, so my mind started working...dangerous I know...but you guys think we see a reverse on a kickoff in the near future?

I'm betting that maybe next week we try a little something special to out Hester them.

even if they do...it wont matter, ive never seen a reverse work more than marginally

Were you alive in the mid-70's?

Does the nickname Hollywood ring a bell?

I don't think we'll put up a lot of points on their D, but I do think Garrett has our offense playing out of their mind right now. All the shifting our offense does (I think) really sets off the defense. It's the little things that give you advantages.

You don't have to go back that far. Deion took one to the house on a reverse.

No, and hollywood henderson comes to mind...he was an lb, did he return kicks?

The game isn't the same as the mid-70's...guys are too fast and its been done too many times.

This might be off topic just a tad, but NOTE to Wade PHillips: Please try not to kick the ball to Hester.

Carry on!

Specifically, no kickoffs OR punts.

That would cover all kicks, or would it be ok to kick a free kick to him if they happen to get a safety. Just wondering. ;)

Yikes! Better add kicks following a safety to the list. You can never be too careful, you know. :)

You forgot a missed FG return.
As Stewie would say, "Blast it!"

Or pooch punts. Or would that classify as a punt?

Hell, just don't kick the ball to him, period.
Yeahhhhh! :p:

Yeah the way Mcbrair out kicks the coverage Hester could have a big day, thats if we punt!

they are 12th in total defense this year. Losing Brown again hurts, especially this early on.

All you have to do to beat the bears:

Score twice. Dont turn the ball over, don't kick to Hester.

FedRex wont throw for more than one td, and we'll have at least 2 turnovers. Benson will rush for 85 or so and possibly put one on the ground.

17 points should do it.

yes, Henderson returned some kicks...he was a tremendous athlete and even at LB, was one of the fastest players on the team

its a shame he wasted himself...he could have been one of the most overwhelming defensive players ever...in 77&78 he was a monster, there was nobody else like him at OLB in the NFL then

I expect that to be a hard hitting game. Cowboys need to buckle the chin strap and get ready

I said this in another thread, but it's not all Hester. The Bears special teams do an excellent job of blocking. Now Hester is really fast and all, but just kick the damn ball out of bounds and we don't even have to worry about it. This is a game where I want to see Wade get into the D a little. I say that because the Bears have had a really hard time picking up the blitz. Both of their running backs are AWFUL at picking up the blitz. Berrian is the only guy on O who can really torch us IMO.

If we can get after sexy Rexy their crappy O-coordinator (Ron Turner) will tone the offense down ever more. Turner is a joke. I watched him for several years at the U of Illinois and was awful and is doing the same thing to the Bears O. I think I heard Mooch say on the NFL network that the Bears scored 9 TD's from their special teams and D. Add in all the short fields they get with the knack for TO's their D has and you can see why they were 12-4 last year. They really count on the special teams and D scoring them at least 10 points a game. If they don't do that against a good O they lose. All I know is we need our O-line to step up and big time for us this weekend. Are there many better D-lines in football better then Chicago's? I don't think so.

As long as the Boys don't turn the ball over, I don't see how the Bears can beat them.

I would squib every kickoff and kick every punt out of bounds. I don't care if they start at the 30-40 every possession, it's better than kicking to Hester, and having him house one.
