An Idea for the Next Preseason Game--Need Help!

Last game I focused on watching Free, which was helpful because I saw what he did on every play. But I tended to miss other guys because of it.

It got me thinking... we should team up and have everyone pick an offensive and defensive player to monitor. Then we can all report back. It's hard watching all 11, but this way we will get a much better read. Pick one of defense and one on offense. We could try to watch them on ST, too.

So, I'm gonna start it:
I want Siavii and Proctor.

Nice idea. Problem is, there are too many posters on the board you can't trust to evaluate player positions. Compare the range of opinions on Bobby Carpenter's play last week with what the coaches had to say about him a day later.

This is far easier if you're watching the game live and in person. I find it hard to focus on one player unless he is playing lights out, or is having a horrible game.

It's easier to evaluate with the overhead coaches film. With the TV film, sometimes things aren't always clear since the camera moves, and you're seeing it from a side angel that doesn't give clear movement indications.

Easiest thing to do take everyones reviews, subtract the guys that clearly don't know what they're talking about and the those that just regurgitate those views and you will get somewhat of a clear reading on what happen.

Listen to what Wade says and while you have to take it with a grain of salt, he also gives insight that everyone else doesn't get because he knows what was supposed to happen and he has the coaches overhead film.

Done. ...and you didn't even have to watch the game to get a clue! :laugh2:

It's not perfect, but like I said, I watched Free last week and it gave me a good idea. My analysis closely followed the play-by-play just posted from BTB.

So, who's with me?

With watching a game on television, you can concentrate on one player, as long as he isn't a defensive back or wide receiver. Can't do it with them at all, so don't even try.

If its not a Ciwboys broadcast its tough w/ all the shuffling. I doubt Aikman and Buvk(?) care about Jason Williams, Doug Free, and Deangelo Smith.

All the more reason for us to do it. We can get their number, watch that number, and report back. It's simple, and it def works for line/lb play (some areas of concern for us imo)

I think this is a great idea, it may not be flawless, but heck, it is better than nothing. I would definitely be in, but I don't believe I get this game on tv. I know one of our preseason games is on National tv, is this one it? If so, I am in.

Ok, if you think it "won't work" then how 'bout not bothering to post. I have already tried it and it mostly worked. BTB does play-by-play and everybody eats it up, so why can't we? So many people are just haters and procrastinaters
