An Informal Poll On Improving for 2008

Which option do you think is the best option to put the Cowboys over the top?

1. Use both 1st round picks and a sweetener if necessary (another pick or a player) to move up and take Darren McFadden.

2. Use one of the 1st round picks to acquire a Veteran WR (Roy Williams, Anquan Bolden, Chad Johnson, or another unanmed as yet option), and us the other two day 1 picks on RB and CB.

3. Trade for Pacman Jones and keep all three day 1 draft picks.

I chose #2, but getting McFadden and also getting a quality CB would be a great improvement as well, and is possible. We wouldnt be giving up the whole draft or even all our good picks to get him.

But getting Roy Williams, Boldin or Chad Johnson would have huge impact as well.

Since it's informal and all and I don't have to wear a tux...I'll go with Vet WR as the closest to the option I like.

I think a 4th option could be added as well...Trade for VET WR & Pacman, and use what picks are left.

I think veteran WR is the key to 2008 though.

Ultimately I think we will end up with Roy Williams, Pacman Jones, and 2 day 1 picks, and I like that scenario better than anything that adds McFadden to the picture.

I chose #2. Give me someone on the opposite side of TO who actually scares the defense as well as TO and the running lanes for Barber open up like the Grand Canyon.

Add to that Witten's route running and we have a great offense.

Get a good future CB with the next #1 pick and then get a RB in round two. This draft is deep at RB so that makes the most sense.

I voted for option 2, but I think another realistic possibility is acquiring PacMan and trading for a vet WR and drafting a CB and RB.

I chose option #2 because we really need another WR threat other than TO, but my real option is to trade one of the first round picks for Roy Williams, trade for Pacman Jones, use the other first round pick to get FS Phillips from Miami, and use the second round pick to get RB Johnson, Rice, or Charles.

I obviously chose #1 because i don't think were gonna be able to get a vet wr and if we do we will get to pass happy like the end of last year. we need a good running game and we have a chance to go get a great rb. than we can get Roy next year after he becomes a FA and it would show Garrett that with mcfadden you don't have to get pass happy every game.

cant argue with that...I like the RW scenario, but I am starting to think the scenarios for a good veteran WR and Jones at CB are almost as big a longshot as getting McFadden

Pacman would not only solidify our secondary but would give us a return game. Still would like to add another vet wr though...

At the end of last year we got to run happy

My choice wasn't on there. I want to trade for a vet WR (hopefully w/#28), trade for Pacman, CB w/#22, RB w/2nd rounder.

That's my vote.

My first choice is #2. Has been for a long while.

But if you can't get that high quality Vet WR playmaker, get McFadden for those two #1s and some small change. The offense is one more playmaker away. I'd prefer that he be a WR, but I'd take one at RB.

My choice isn't on the list:
Trade the #2 and a player (Akin) to Det for RW.
Trade both this years 1st for DMac. (add a mid to late next year if you have too)
Trade for Pacman (guess would be a #5)
Use the #3 on a FB or NT
Use the next highest pick on the highest rated CB on the board left.

None of the above.

I would much rather just keep our picks and use them to bring in young talent. If I had to choose one then I would go with option @2, trading for Roy Williams or Boldin as they are both pretty young and proven.

I don't want Adam Jones even if he comes for free.

My first choice isn't there.

I want to trade a 2008 6th rd pk and a 2009 conditional pk from 4 to 7 for A. Jones.

I want to trade our 28th pick in the first round to Detroit for R. Williams.

I want to trade down from 22 and out of the first round for an extra 2nd and 3rd.

The idea behind trading out of the 1st rd is to avoid paying a 1st rd contract.

We have to pay A. Jones and redo the Owens, Williams deals. We then have Ware and Newman to deal with soon after.

When you add Jones and Williams to this team we become too talented a roster to be paying first round money to a rookie.

With 2 2nds, 2 3rds and the rest of our picks, we should do real well in the draft.
