Perhaps this should be titled "An Absolutely Best Case Scenario" mock... for simplicity, I'm not projecting any trades of draft picks here (I do project one possible draft pick for a player trade):

FIRST ROUND:

There are two, and only two, players that I really, really want to see the Cowboys grab here (that stand any chance at all of being on the board at pick 27)-- Mike Iupati and Earl Thomas... both are players that I think will be very good pros, and both address team needs...

Plan B, if these two are not on the board, is to trade the first round pick, plus possibly a 2011 pick, for Antrel Rolle...

And if plan A and B aren't there, trade down... but again, this is a best case mock, so we won't go into that...

SECOND ROUND:

This depends on which way the Boys went in the first; if they got Iupati, then consider Nate Allen, Chris Cook or Morgan Burnett for the secondary (in that order)... if they got either Thomas or Rolle, then look at Vladimir Ducasse, Jason Fox or Jared Veldheer for the offensive line (again, in that order)...

THIRD ROUND:

Pick up Jordan Shipley to be your slot receiver/punt returner... I also like WR Carlton Mitchell, TE Garrett Graham, OL Roger Saffold, DE Alex Carrington, DT Lamarr Houston and S Larry Asante, but again, this is a "dream" mock, and Shipley is my dream here...

FOURTH ROUND:

By this point, you're starting to see a lot more options-- OG/OT Marshall Newhouse, OG Mitch Petrus, C/OG JD Walton, WRs Jacoby Ford and David Gettis, RB Brandon Tate and CB Akwasi Owusu-Ansah... part of the reason for this longer list is the Boys dont' have a 5th round pick, so some of these players might be graded as 5th round prospects... and since I think the emphasis on this draft has to be the offensive line, I'd look to the first three prospects first...

SIXTH ROUND

I have a shorter but diverse list here-- CB Brian Jackson, FB/TE Dorin Dickerson, WR Donario Alexander and OG/OT Chris Scott... I go with Dickerson here because of his performance at the Combine; I think he could be a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses, and the Boys could use another thread in the red zone (he scored 10 TDs last year)... this is a hard call for me, because Scott is one of my pet cats, but the Boys have already drafted two offensive linemen...

SEVENTH ROUND

Hmmm, what to do here?? There's a lengthy list of players I like here, some of whom might go undrafted and thus would become free agents... the list includes C/OG Greg Olsen, C/OG Erik Cook, OG/C Thomas Austin, OTs Casey Knips and Tony Washington, TE Michael Hoomanawanui, OLBs Junior Galette and Danny Batten, and K Hunter Lawrence... I think I'll go with the center/guard type here, even though that means drafting three OL in six picks, because I'm hoping to find a capable backup for Gurode (so that I don't have to have any more nightmares about Procter)... and since Cook's brother Ryan is already playing the NFL, I'll go with the prospect with NFL bloodlines... some scouts say that at 6-6, he could even play some tackle at the next level...

So, my "If the football Gods are smiling on the Boys" draft would look like this:

1) Mike Iupati, OG/OT, Idaho
2) Nate Allen, FS, South Florida
3) Jordan Shipley, WR/KR, Texas
4) Marshall Newhouse, OG/OT, TCU
6) Dorin Dickerson, FB/TE, Pitt
7) Erik Cook, C/OG/OT, New Mexico

Yeah, I think that draft would make me smile a lot... now, if only the first three would actually fall to where the Boys will be picking... :D

I like Gilyard but I believe Shipley would be ideal for us in the slot.

I much prefer Shipley over Gilyard, and it's MY dream... :D

I would take this in a heartbeat. Iupati is clearly emerging as the guy most of us want because he just seems a perfect bookend for BIGG. I do think McCluster is on our radar in the 2nd. That may push FS to the 3rd round. Asante? Wright? I am still a Robert Johnson fan at this point, but I don't see him as 3rd round.
