ESPN analyst Todd McShay was impressed with former Texas receiver Jordan Shipley's performance during Wednesday's Pro Day.

"Shipley really helped himself," McShay said. "He's moving up. It wouldn't shock me if he came off the board in the second round. Worst case would be the third round."

Shipley posted one of the top marks in the vertical jump with a 36.5, and he improved his 40-yard dash time, from 4.57 at the combine to 4.48.

"The main thing for me is it's not going to be as much about the numbers and 40s and all that stuff," Shipley said. "It's going to be more about playing football and that's what I do. That's what I'm here for. This is not real football. I'm excited to get to finally play some football soon."

"Jordan is a guy that [scouts] all look at and say, 'You know, he's really a good player but he's not a hype guy.' He's not going to say much," Texas coach Mack Brown said. "He's not a glitter guy but a few of the [scouts] I was standing around [during Shipley's positional drills] said, 'You know, he runs every route perfectly. He's a team guy, he's really fast and he never drops a ball.' He's a 100-percent guy."

Oh, McShay says so?

Now I know he's not going in the second.

I would love to see Dallas take him!
I love Dez Bryant, but unless he lands to us in the 1st which I doubt, I would take Shipley in a heart beat...great 3rd down WR and reliable for Romo!
He's Tough!!

I haven't been high on him, but his toughness, route running and hands could be a perfect compliment to Austin. We would still need a quick slot guy though.

I could see him being a solid receiver that will get you 600-700 yards a season. He will probably be a solid role player, but I doubt he will be more than that.

Shipley will be the guy on the team that busts his butt day in and day out, and will do all the little things, including the dirty work on special teams..........anything he can to help his team win. He won't be devisive, dramatical, lazy, or a problem. He won't be the #1 guy on any team, but he will be a solid WR and KR. He will definitely be a positive asset to whatever team drafts him......and if he can avoid the injuries that lengthened his college career, he should be able to play in the NFL for 8-10 years....

When I look at Shipley, I see a Ricky Proehl type WR.

I see him having a Crayton type career.

Yea, I wouldnt take Ricky Proehl in the 2nd round and I love me some Ricky Proehl. He went to my HS

Pretty obscure reference there. I cant imagine why youd think of Ricky Proehl

He's the prototypical slot receiver. Why look for another slot receiver? He's very quick.

According to NFL Network's Mike Mayock, "most teams" have a fourth-round grade on Texas WR Jordan Shipley.

Mayock calls Shipley an "ideal slot receiver," and still thinks he could go in the third. Shipley's measurables aren't impressive, but he knows how to find soft spots in a zone and flashes the ability to make catches over his shoulder. We don't see him as a future starting outside receiver, though.

possession WR, elusive, catches pretty much everything thrown his way, excellent complementary WR, always seems to be open.

Must be something else that led you to your comparison.....

Mayock is much more reliable then McShay. An NFL scout said "Whatever McShay says about a QB, think the opposite"

McShay was the guy hyping up Andre Woodson,(who isn't even in the league now)
