On this failed run play inside the 5 at the goal line against the Buccs (January 2023), who (could be more than 1 player) messed up on their run blocking that allowed this run to get shut down?



With proper blocking, this could have been an easy run TD.

Clearly, Zack Martin missed his block, and allowed #96 to get into the backfield to stop the run. If you pause at 3 seconds, you can clearly see that the tight end gets his block, and all the other linemen have sealed off the interior defenders. Zack Martin is the only one standing there watching the defender make the play.

Martin missed the block and Ferguson engaged the LB to quickly - had to take one more step to the inside - then engage.

70 missed his block and allowed the defender to get to the RB in the backfield. 87 was trailing the defender and didn't get a block and he plugged the hole.

Most fans won't understand how incredible Tyler is physically until the media tells them what to think.

Ferguson had poor position failing to get inside the WILL and then whiffed his punch.
Martin got juked and whiffed as well.

That was what was cool about Madden. He knew what he was talking about and highlighted line play.

86 came across the formation and took out the SAM. He made his block even if he was out of control throwing himself to create power.
