In the olden days, well-before the creation of cellphones and White Walkers threatened humanity's existence, there were three television channels--four if you counted PBS. The World Wide Web wasn't around and newspapers were the "It" media of print. Radio came in handy for the NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL because ABC, CBS, and NBC didn't insert games often into their very limited alphabet soup programming. Thus, the majority of Tom, Dick, and Harry personalities had very limited access to the general public.
That was then and this is now. So, even though anyone can rarely watch certain television shows in a 500 channel universe or distance themselves from select large scale social media some might feel are unnecessary for everyday living, no one can ever truly avoid the nonsense of today. What a world. What Stephen A. Smith world.
