finally. we got to see moore.

like most of us, it was pretty frustrating to watch cassel go duck hunting with the football. there were in fact a few fly bys over dez's head when an attached go pro would have seen dez down on the field looking helplessly up at the football flying over his head.

well, if he bothered to look up but much like a right fielder not even bothering to look up when he knows the ball is gonna sail out of the park, dez has quit watching footballs fly over his head. then again, when they pummell his hands lately he's just as horrible at watching it ball helplessly to the ground sooner or later.

at times i wonder if this is just the result of my first cowboys season sober in a long long time. i picked a bad cowboys season to give up drinking, that's for damn sure. for sunda....saturdays game i just settled in and had my tablet handy to allow me to kill aliens when the game got too bad and let's just say i had 1/2 the galaxy defended and had accepted my fate of another wasted sunda...saturday and another session of why we even seem to care.

what happened in the moments that followed were expected and totally a surprise all at the same time. WHOAH - nice escape kid!!! wait...what are you.. .. . NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (yes i'm going to see star wars today and needed the darth reference) interception. but hey, at least he got out of the way and showed some ability to move around.

baby steps.

what happened for the rest of the game was bryce butler got another pass, mcfadden kept on keeping on and in the end, the *team* just seemed to give a damn as throws were on target. didn't matter if the secondary had it covered, take them out of the picture and he's making great throws!

yes, that's sarcasm i know. but it's also looking at the good in what moore *did* do sunda...saturday. he's going to make bad decisions. can't think of any rookie who didn't. but he kept coming back. the kid was having fun and it was rubbing off.

i don't think weeden or cassel were having fun. sure i suppose it's easier when you've nothing left to prove and you can let it fly, but the game itself was instantly more fun to watch as well. well, except for one bad play by our other star, jones.

we coulda been a contenda!!!!!

nothing left to win and we know it so the team *should* loosen up and this is a great opportunity for the kid to show he *can* play and *can* give us hope. draft a qb in the 1st next year? maybe. but we're not to the draft yet and i'm ok with waiting.

i'd also be ok if we happen to just beat the skins in our season finale. outside that, at least the team is fun to watch again.

baby steps.

Love ya ice. Seeing Roger Moore's American son take over was somewhat exciting because it at least meant the Cowboys had enough of watching Matt's epic failure, but this team is not fun to watch. None in the in least. Not even that tiny spark that flickered hope and wonder by Helen Kellen could change that, especially after three INT's.

It has been a brutal test of will to want to stick it out till the waning seconds of the fourth quarter merely to watch our team collapse time and again. The draft couldn't get here soon enough.

Seeing Moore play tells me that we should have started him sooner. I understand the logic of staying with the veteran, but Moore appears better than Cassel and Weeden at this point, even with the interceptions. Moore is not afraid to throw the football! That's a good trait for a QB.

The Cowboys offense is custom-tailored to Romo's talents: quick decisions, quick release, close timing and a bit of QB creativity as needed. Weeden had none of those qualities, which is why he failed in Dallas but could prosper elsewhere (maybe). Likewise Cassel. But Moore is a mini-Romo. He doesn't have the arm strength or the escapability, but he can make the quick decisions (some of them bad, given his level of experience) and get the ball out. If he isn't the starter these final 2 games, I'm taking it as a signal that JJ wants to tank the season without admitting it.

Moore and the O played with a bit of inspiration, a modicum of freedom --- 'cause freedom's just another word for nothin left to lose.

That's not an unusual spark, given the situation. It happens all the time (Longley).

So the question is, can Killin's expected improvement with reps and experience exceed the opposition's improvement with familiarly of his tendencies?

We'll see, but they already know that he can't throw the deep out, and his creativity will have to be Tony-esque just to stay afloat.

At this point, he's at least a reason to watch the game.............for a while.

hellen keller reference - i got that! :)

it was fun for me but not in the traditional way, no. maybe more in the "oh my god - something new!" because watching dez's apathy at the high balls wasn't fun at all.

yes the kid made some stupid throws due to coverage. maybe i *am* finding silver in the shitmine, but the throws were on target and he just needs to continue to learn to read coverages and that *only* (usually *only*) comes with on the field in game experience.

the team just seemed to flip a switch when the kid came in. maybe it was "FINALLY we can drop the pretenses" sure. it just felt different.

at this point, different is a step up and i'll take it.

You know, we moved the ball. Dez actually caught some footballs.... I see why the coaching staff likes him.

But he doesnt have the arm. the sample set was small, but it just seems like he doesnt have the arm...

Hit the weights and get his swoll on, just on his throwing arm. He'll look weird, but ******, he'll be able to make all the throws.

The throw to Beasley was a rope, so maybe he just prefers the rainbow passes deep(not good).

But I did like the way he looked in the huddle, didn't have that deer in the headlights look.
