For all you guys who jumped on the "Bash The Replacement Refs" bandwagon, . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . the honeymoon for your "real" refs is over!

I still prefer the real refs and its not even close.

Scab refs were horrible. Did you even watch the games?

The real refs blew a few today as well.

A terrible call in the Saints/Packers game could have cost the Pack another game.

Not much more than a wash.

Remember the refs are going to have a little rust for a few weeks. They didn't even have a preseason to get ready.

Part of that is on Mcarthy for blowing a challenge on the Nelson catch it was clear that he lost the ball and it was an idiotic challenge.

Real refs suck. Scab refs suck more.
I would say they suck harder...but year you're 100% right :laugh2:

And you were thinking you made a point.

Just because both parties make mistakes does not mean they are equal. It's called the rate at which mistakes are made.

I know its difficult to count the number of mistakes and then divide it by the number of plays or games to come up with a rate of mistakes but that would require intelligent thinking.

If you cannot tell the difference in games where multiple personal fouls are missed, illegal contact and holding simply isn't called, and take about 25% longer to complete due to needing time to figure out what to do then that is your problem.

it isn't all about missed or made calls. The real refs clearly have these games under better control. Players and coaches aren't blowing fuses as refs huddle for minutes on end just trying to figure out what page of the rulebook applies.

You seem to have some maturity issues lately..

Aside from costing a team a game, i was rather enjoying the replacement refs. They let alot of the jostling between wideouts and DB's go.. like football used to be played and still should be played. Now its back to 60 points a game for the offenses around the league.

do you really believe the scabs were better?

Calls get blown EVERY week - they are just under a microscope at this point.

Did anyone honestly think that someone with no experience at all could do as well as someone with years of experience?

Really?

The games weren't the same, but other than the GB debacle they were tolerable.

They would have gotten better with more experience.

Was not into bashing them but not only were they blowing calls they were having a hard time figuring the rules out and causing very long delays. I don't think anyone expected the reg refs would come back and not miss calls fact is no matter who is out there calls will be missed and can promise you if you were a ref you would miss calls as well. Things are happening quickly out there and calls will be missed that is just the facts of it. Delays and not grasping the rules was my major problem with the replacements.

I don't think he could have challenged the kickoff return fumble though because they ruled down by contact.

#reality

I don't think the replacement refs were as bad as the media promoted them to be, but the real refs are definitely on a higher level. If nothing else, the games are much more fluid now with fewer and shorter delays.

I believe the fumble can be challenged on a play blown dead, but the ball cannot be awarded to the other team unless there is obvious possession of the ball before the scrum.

Gotta agree with Fuzz on this one
