If it was up to me, I would continue to play Anderson even thought Hoyte is getting healthy.

He runs a lot more physical, and there is no comparison in catching the ball.

Anderson or Hoyte ??

What about impact on the running game? Hoyte makes some vicious blocks...

Hoyte is a far better run blocker and he explodes into his block. Anderson did that in college, but hasn't done it in the NFL yet and gets confused in his blocking schemes right now though he is getting better. In the end, Anderson will be a far better FB than Hoyte, but right now there is no comparison on who blocks better and no comparison on who is a better receiver.

Catching: Anderson > Hoyte
Blocking: Hoyte > Anderson

I'm going to have to go with Hoyte though. Run blocking and punishing a defense's front seven is of big-time importants at this time.

I agree I like what I'm seeing out of Anderson. I'm glad Hoyte is coming back because having depth is important but I would stay with Anderson right now.

I'm in on this... I'm a little concerned about the run right now, and want to see some crushing blocks by Hoyte to open up some holes...

I don't see why we can't use both opportunistically. Why should mix both guys into the offensive gameplan.

I'm glad the team is getting healthier.

Anderson gives you more versatility even though Hoyte is a better blocker.

Anderson..

Hoyte, easily.

And don't forget, Hoyte still has some upside. He did great for being thrown into a totally new position last year, and he was improved after a year of training at his new position. He'll still get better as he refines his game.

Hoyte is just a bigger and more violent blocker, whcih we need to help our run game more than we need another receiving option. Anderson can still stay active and contribute on special teams.

I'm looking forward to Hoyte returning and splattering some Eagle guts on the field next Sunday night.

How many times in a game is a FB thrown to? How many times in a game does a FB block?

It's abundantly clear who the better blocker is.

I still remember last year in the Colts game when he put on a very hard block on Freeney and boy was Freeny pissed :laugh2:

Hoyte definitely having good run blocking is more important at this point if we need to throw out the backfield we have Jones and Barber for that

They'll both play because they are both good enough on special teams to make the active roster.

Anderson is a better overall player than Hoyte and his run blocking has improved a ton in the last few weeks. Hoyte is still a very good lead blocker and he isn't in danger of getting cut.

The FB in the flat is a big weapon if teams are gonna deep cover two us and make Romo take the dump offs. Anderson looks good in that area.

They'll both be active on Sundays. However, I honestly like this Anderson kid much more than I like Hoyte. To me, Hoyte is hot or cold. I've seen him lay some wicked blocks to spring the backs, but I've also seen him completely whiff on others because he almost seems to always torpedo into his blocks much like a linebacker tackling a RB. A lead blocker doesn't always have to take his guy out to be effective; sometimes he can just get a piece of the guy but then look for another person to hit.

If it was up to me, Hoyte's Roster spot would free up room for Tank Johnson instead of cutting Bowen or Remi.

#92 is making strides each week. He played well Sunday against Minnesota. Bowen's versatility as an end or tackle gives him value as well.

I like Hoyte, but at Training camp this year he struggled catching the ball out of the backfield. Anderson's good hands and fearlessness makes up for his lack of experience.

The running game has noticeably slowed down since Hoyte has been out. Yards have been harder to come by.

Its easy to say that because he makes a couple catches here and there. But what I see is him also missing blocks on blitzes, making Romo bounce around the pocket more than he should be

You don't think that has something with the defenses that the 'Boys have faced?

I do.

For me, it boils down to this: Who will eat more crickets?

Seriously, I do think Hoyte supplies the better blocking right now, but in the long run Anderson should be the better player.

They both play pretty mean and give the offense some attitude. Hoyte brings a defensive mentality to blocking though.

I know defenses hate to see Leonard Davis and Andre Gurode opening up a hole that Hoyte is running full blast through to KO the first guy that comes along... then after getting through all of that, they still have to stop Barber and get him to the ground.

That's why right now, I do like Hoyte at FB. Just to wear defenses out. It takes a toll by the 4th quarter.

OK then it is decided, we will use Hoyte and Anderson the same way we are using Barber & Jones.

Use them both!

Chicken or egg?

To get better than Hoyte, as you apparently believe he will be, Anderson needs to play.

Who will be better during the playoffs? Is the answer dependent on whether or not Anderson plays? Who will be needed more?

;)
