Andre Holmes showed promise

Was only out there, for a few drives with Orton, and he showed some promise.

The announcers were even raving about him.

The only negative, is he likes to dance and stutter a lot at the LOS. Which can be worked on.

He showed great ability to catch, and use his body.

Remember our number 3, does not have to play Slot. We got Austin for that. He just has to be effective.

How do you all feel?

The problem here is you can't evaluate the WRs when the quarterback is running for his life, or the running back is running into his linemen. If the o-line can't pass block, and can't run block, then even Jerry Rice would go unnoticed.

Given the circumstances, I thought he did better than I expected. He caught some passes. Did he run the correct routes all the time. Well the coaches will ned to tell us that.

100% agree with this. They BETTER sign someone for that #3 spot.

We have no room for players who are "winded" right now. He did look almost out of breath several times out there. Can these players not run and get in decent shape in the off season? We need players who can come out and play 4 quarters of football. Not be a flash here and there.

He looked like a sloppy young player to me that kind of just lets the play come to him.

He didn't hurt himself at all last night but I can't see him being the #3 based on last nights game. He's got time though.

I felt he did alright in the 1st pre season game of the year. He made a couple of nice catches. I think the issues is showing improvement week by week. Making any kind of final judgement at this stage is foolish

He made the team. Whether he is #3 or #4 is up to debate. Ogletree still probably has a slight lead based upon experience, but there is no denying Holmes big body, speed, and potential could push him ahead. I like the way he used his body to shield the defender away from the ball. That is a veteran move.

Can Holmes play special teams?


Because I don't think the Cowboys would keep both Ogletree and Holmes if neither could play special teams unless they want to keep 6 receivers.
