andrew luck = troy aikman

Would you bet every single penny you have that Luck is the next Troy Aikman ?

I'm not claiming Luck will be the next Aikman, but what's your point?

What player do you like?

Can you gaurantee with any demonstratable certainty that they will be the next great, scratch that, even goodplayer?

You can play that game with any player at any point in the draft.

Lol, thanks for copying and pasting Aikman's wikipedia bio.

You've proved nothing.

The Dallas Cowboys were 11-1 in the playoffs, not Troy Aikman. But funny how you're selective with the statistics anyways, why not include all the playoff games, not just from '92-'95.

Question, what was the Cowboys record during those years when Aikman was out to injury?

What was the record when Aikman was starting and Emmitt Smith was out?

Thanks for playing.

There is no thanks necessary.

You have your opinion, thats fine.

A lot of people would say that Aikman was an incredibly important piece of those Championship teams.

Your claim was that lesser talented QBs would have the same success. I remember that era vividly and i disagree.

You can watch endless programs and read many articles about that time period that discuss Troy Aikmans place as one of the best QBs of that era.

I cannot remember any that place him as nothing more than a 'bus driver' riding the coattails of others to greatness.

They don't put you in the Hall of Fame for that.

My point was never that "lesser talented QBs would have the same success."

That's an extreme that I'm not espousing.

I merely pointed out Aikman did indeed benefit from the tremendous set of surrounding talent (HOF RB, likely the decades most dominant o-line, HOF WR, a great TE and not to mention a very good defense).

Me pointing out that Bernie Kosar and Jason Garrett both won multiple games with the same surrounding talent isn't meant as a slight to Aikman, but rather as a matter of fact because it did happen.

That's why it's a complete misnomer to say Aikman (or any other QB...or individual) went "11-1 in the playoffs."

That's why I highlighted the fact you omitted Aikman's playoff record after the Super Bowl years. Aikman wasn't nearly as successful during those years and most everyone would agree that those teams (1996-2000) were lesser teams, which only supports my contention...it's a team effort.

On great teams, during crunchtime, Aikman was great when it mattered most, that's what is most important.

No thanks.....this can only be posted by people that have NO idea in what we have in Romo.

I am pretty sure I know what we have in Romo, and even I don't want Luck.

Unless Andrew Luck can somehow block and cover receivers at the same time.
