Andy Reid hints at a possible trade
Posted by Mike Florio on October 19, 2009 12:43 PM ET
With the 2009 trade deadline less than 28 hours away, the Eagles could be making a move.

Coach Andy Reid made that suggestion on Monday, during a press conference.

"We are keeping our eyes open." Reid said. "We are looking."

The folks at myfoxphilly.com think that the trade could be aimed at replacing linebacker Omar Gaither, who sprained a foot during the game in which the Raiders put a foot somewhere in the Eagles' collective anatomy.

The bait could be receiver Kevin Curtis, who per Jay Glazer of FOX is rumored to be on the block, thanks to the performance of rookie wideout Jeremy Maclin.

The Ravens have made it clear, apparently, they're looking for WR help. I know they said yesterday on the Fox pre-game that the Ravens had contacted the Bills about rather they'd trade TO or not. The Bills apparently told them no thanks that they were happy with TO and would be keeping him.

Guys at work today were saying Vick was on the trading block. I didn't believe it for one iota of a second.

They need help despearately at LB. I can't believe they brought Trotter out of retirement. He was brutal trying to cover Gary Russell out of the backfield on Sunday. Imagine if he tried to cover someone who ran faster than a 4.8.

Kevin Curtis is hurt. However, former second round pick Reggie Brown is riding the pine. It could be him.

So let me get this straight. The team with the self proclaimed most talented roster in the entire nfl needs players?

How so? The media has told me time and time again the eagles are a perfect organization. They even signed mike vick and that was viewed as the golden move.

Had Dallas Spent the money on the offensive line the eagles did, signed vick, lost to the raiders, brought in a has been to play mlb and now are talking about trading for help on a week where they lost to the raiders we would be viewed as a laughing stock.

When they do these things in philly its called being a step ahead, being inovative, constantly trying to get better.

whatever, they will probably end up with derek johnson and he will immediately turn into dick butkus as told by the national media.

If somebody would give the Eagles a 7th rd pick and a bag of Doritos, they should jump all over it.

Dude is absolutely worthless and its proving to be a stupid move (one of numerous) by the Eagles this offseason.

AJ Hawk of the Packers played only 9 snaps last weekend agains the Lions. He is not meant for the 3-4 scheme or the BAtes defensive scheme the Packers ran the past few years. I would not be surprised to see him traded before the day is out. That draft year was horrible. Other than the DE from Houston, nobody has been a star. REggie Bush, Vince Young, Vernon Davis, Hawk, all have been disappointments.

Nothing wrong with A.J. except in wrong defense, the pack shoulda known before drafting him.

I think the Cowboys can relate to this.
