Andy Reid looks to surpass Tom Landry on the all time wins list today

The NFL started in 1932 and until 1947 varied from 10-12 games and then from 47-60 12 games; 60-78 14 games; 78-2021 16 games and 17 since 2021

So bluntly speaking George Halas would have a LOT more wins looking at it that way. Probably near 400.

Tom would not have gotten all that many more regular season games but probably another 10-15.
BUT playoffs would have been a fair number more for him and of course Halas and other older coaches.

So this particular stat needs an asterisk
Actually the NFL began in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association in Canton, OH.
Then in 1922 it got its current National Football League name.

Grandpa Google traces the first time somebody got paid to play football as far back as1892.

I remember the outrage when Reid was hired by the Eagles because he was merely a QB's coach.

Raise your milkshake glass and have a big bite of your double cheeseburger for Andy Reid! Great coach!

However, nobody will ever move The Great Tom Landry
from the mythical coaching Mt. Rushmore of all-time.

If Reid continues to coach he will be the all time wins holder given enough time.

Reid is a HOF coach, but he's a notch below the legendary coaches. There are levels even to the HOF.

THE HOF and the NFL both say 1932 is when official records of all this were kept. You don't like that too bad.
