Have you ever had a random thought about someone just days before they passed away? That happened to me 2 days ago with Andy Rooney. I don't know why but suddenly I thought of his wit and wisdom and thought how much it will be missed when he is gone.

Someone posted one of his clips on my facebook, just yesterday. She was a RTF/Journalism major at UT. Strange how intuition sometimes works.

I used to watch 60 Minutes with my family and always looked forward to seeing him at the end of the show. I even bought one of his books when I was in my early teens because I enjoyed his writing.

I was very sad to see that he was retiring, but I think it would have pleased him, in retrospect, to know that he worked until nearly the very end.

I recently bought a bottle of Aspirin and fished out the usual wad of cotton and immediately thought of Rooney. Good writer, loyal Giants fan and a blast to watch. He'll be missed. R.I.P. , Andy Rooney.
