With all negative articles about Roy and his coverage skills, he would be very mad come game time Saturday. Roy can change the attitude of the whole defense with a big hit early in the game and establish a momemtum for the defense. I hope this fire will stay till the end of the season deep into playoffs

This will probably be his "on" week. He'll pick off some errant Vick toss and everyone will come post about how crazy anyone would have to be to question Roy's "cover skills".

But I haven't seen so many articles in the papers talking about Roy and his coverage skills. Woodson/Parcells/Jones were also talking about "problems with Roy coverage skills" this week. I think that's a lot of finger pointing at Roy and he doesn't get mad after this week, then he will never be

You know, Roy is so thin-skinned that he probably has a clipping service deliver every article written about him.

Seems to me that he doesn't really get "mad" -- instead he just kinda gets his feelings hurt.

Problem is he can also change the attitude of the defense by getting burnt beyond recognition, which sadly he did on Sunday.

I love Roy but man I'm getting frustrated by watching him getting torched or missing tackles because he's more focused on landing a Sportscenter shot.

look I said it before and I will say it again...I would almost welcome an unsportsmanlike penalty...at the RIGHT time...just so somebody on the oppositons gets hit and hit hard. When is the last time our defense hit somebody hard. Did you see the shot the Giants gave Romo....and there was no flag. Or the shot they gave Glenn. We don't even hit anybody anymore. Brees and Eli made a sandwich in the pocket.

Again, not take someone out at the knees....or ruin someone's career...but a borderline nasty hit is needed out of this defense. It fires everyone up and I think we play less robotic when we are fired up

Like when we played Jacksonville and Roy laid the wood to Leftwich who summarily picked himself up and proceeded to perform surgery on our secondary for the rest of the game?

Is our defense too complex? Is every body worried about assignments and worried about not making a mistake that Parcell's is constantly reminding off? Are they playing scared?

I'm just happy to hear that JJ and BP both realize that Roy would have a greater impact playing closer to the line of scrimmage...apparently, that was the plan until it turned out he was still the best safety in coverage that we have...that's got to change so that Roy can just be Roy and play up where he's the best, which does not mean LB...it just means playing up in the middle of the action in run and pass defense, instead of back behind it.

I agree that he would destroy the quick slants, screen pass, swing passes and all the nickle and dime stuff that Payton threw at us. At least on his side. Teams would have change their game plant to attack deep and hopefully Watkins is matured enough or Tony P can help out on the deep passes. I like this poison better (Philly game) than the last one (Saints game). At least the defense would be fresh at the end of the game if it is close

One thing that bothers me about Roy other then his coverage skills....is..

when ever something bad happens around him....a TD catch...a long pass...etc...

he is always looking around like it was someone else's fault....

Parcells has to take the binders off this entire defense, they're not playing ball, they're trying to not make mistakes.

I'm sure they are getting a good lesson on "stay in your lanes, and areas so to contain Vick" all this week.

didn't happen. instead, what happened was him helping Tiki Barber up after a tackle, smiling, and patting him on the helmet
