I was listening to ESPN Radio during my break. They were playing a segment with Tony Kornheiser and he stated that everywhere Terrell Owens went, the Quarterback went to the Pro Bowl and had huge success. He basically was saying that Tony Romo's was solely because of Terrell Owens.

What makes this statement so odd is because I remember they use to say Owens was a Team and Quarterback killer. That he would eat the starting QBs alive. Now they are saying the opposite.

I have seen Tony Romo do some amazing things on the field and alot of it had nothing to do with T.O., although alot of it did.

Discuss?

Obviously a good WR makes a QB better. Look at Moss and Brady or Manning and Harrison. Without their WRs, they're not as good as they are with them.

But Romo played extremely well in the past two preseasons throwing to undrafted receivers. So I'm not too worried.

Besides, Donovan was a successful player before TO got there and Garcia has shown to be successful afterwards without TO.

Just as Randy Moss has helped Brady to look even better, Terrell Owens helps Romo. It's a symbiotic relationship and both ends of that connection look better.

Actually Kornheiser is a Romo fan, but made a valid point... T.O. makes the life of a QB easier on the field...:laugh2:

i believe the "TO threat" opens up a lot of options on the field but i also believe Romo is a great QB who has a wonderful pocket presence and a good arm and is also creative & athletic enough to pull off some spectacular plays

Without a great qb the wr are not very happy.....they go hand-in-hand

I am EXTREMELY happy to have both.

I am EXTREMELY happy that BOTH really like and respect each other.

I am EXTREMELY happy that BOTH work well and provide GREAT results together.

Arent they most successful tandem in their first 25 games together?

Romo has said... he wishes he had MORE guys like TO on his team.

I am sure that having T.O. helps Romos overall .numbers a great deal but I am also sure that no matter the WR, if there is an open one on the play Romo is usually going to find him.

Collinsworth was saying in the Green Bay game that he was amazed at how well Romo found the man with 1-1 coverage no matter who it was.

For petes sake it was Miles Austin on two plays.

Hurd in the first Giants game when they brought the blitz.

Crayton on the 3rd and 19 backed up the other night.

No QB is going to do that well if the WR's are not getting open for sure. That is a WR problem not a QB one!

I agree, this isn't really any revelation, and it doesn't take anything away from Romo. I play fantasy football and have been in the habit of picking the quarterback throwing to T.O. and that has worked quite well.

Good receivers make their quarterbacks look better. Duh. It's a team game. See what happened to Aikman in the years after Michael Irvin went down. I don't think this takes anything away from the quarterbacks, though.

I see nothing wrong with TO being thrown a little love by the media. I guess it's just how you take his comments. I think w/ the number of places he has been successful, the media is finally turning around to just how much of a game changer he really is.

Same could be said about TO. TO has benefitted by playing with good QBs like Young, McNabb, and Romo. I'm pretty sure that if he played with scrub QBs he would not have accumulated his great stats.

In order to have a successful QB/WR combo, both need others to be good.

and a good qb that plays well off of him makes TO a happy camper and lessons the gay or lack of leadership complaints too, huh?

it's called a team for a reason.

I love this multi-quote feature.

Pat Crayton is having a career year, Jason Witten is on the way to doing the same, at least for receiving yards

but TO is not Randy Moss and Marvin Harrison in the sense that he can bail his Qb out of a poor throw w/ a great catch, yes, he's made a couple on some poor throws, but he can drop some too

but I agree that TO helps Romo alot, but Romo will do great w/ any set of WRs

It wasnt Kornheiser it was Eric Ascelius (sp) on Mike and Mike last week.

And they can say what ever they want but Tony Romo is a good QB with or without Owens.

Thats taking nothing away from Owens either cause he is the shiznit.

Even without T.O., I still think Romo, would have success with the likes of Glenn, if healthy, Witten, Crayton, Hurd, and Austin because of the way he plays QB, he may not would've thrown close to 40 TDs, as he's on pace to do but he would've still been very effective with this group.

If Kornheiser, said that about Romo, regarding Owens, then the same thing can be said about Brady, regarding Moss do most think that Brady would've had 39 TDs right now if Welker, Stallworth, Gaffney, ect were the WRs not Moss, Brady would've did very well with this group also but he wouldn't be on pace for 57 TDs with that group.

Kornheiser is a tool, .. he is funny, I like him on PTI, but he is not some football guru. He doesn't know anything.

Relax, & don't listen to him, or at least don't take him seriously.
